Subject: Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP)
I am requesting support from Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) to spend a period studying Geomatics Engineering at the University of New Brunswick. I am currently a fourth year student of Engenharia Cartográfica at the Department of Cartography, UNESP campus Presidente Prudente, São Paulo, Brazil.
I am aware that the Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering is one of the main groups of excellence in research in geodesy area. They offer the course of Geomatics Engineering. In union with the Cartographic Engineering course to FCT/UNESP form an excellent complement in the areas of Global Navigation Satellite Systems GNSS and remote sensing. This union for me will be of great value to my formation.
The academic supervisor, Dr. Marcelo Santos, is a world leader in Geodesy in GNSS. He is also the Department Chair and will help the choice of disciplines to be course.
Even being an exchange brief period of only one semester, will be an excellent and possibly the only opportunity I have to be able to acquire more cartographic knowledge in a university of respect and tradition. The knowledge that I will get in New Brunswick University will be useful for generations.
I want to contribute significantly in this exchange of information between nations. I am prepared and confident.
