What are the steps to perform a battery load test?
I- Remove both battery cables, starting with the negative one.
II- Connect a Voltmeter/Amperimeter/Load tester to the battery terminals.
III- Apply a 300-amp load for 15 seconds.
IV- Wait for two minutes and check the open circuit voltage.
V- Apply a 50% cold start specification load for at least 15 seconds.
VI- If the battery passes the load test, it is in good condition and no further testing is necessary. If it fails, it must be replaced.
