What is the name of the book written by Fernando Pessoa that traces the history of Portugal guided by a mystical nationalism of a sebastianist character?
The book was published in 1934 and is the only title published by Pessoa during his lifetime and signed by himself. The first part of the book is called Brasão and it is important to highlight that all the elements that are presented in relation to the flag of Portugal from 1911 are the inspiration for the writing of this first part. In the second part of the book, called Segundo/ O das Quinas, Pessoa presents characters that are not presented in a linear way and paradoxically, only the victorious ones will be able to understand the pain and suffering of the defeated ones. The book Mensagem, also written by Fernando Pessoa, presents a strong symbolic charge, exalting the mythical Portuguese nationalism based on an image of what would be ideal in Portugal, not its reality. 5º império Brasão Mensagem Segundo/ O das Quinas
