The superior and inferior labial arteries, branches of the facial arteries, anastomose with each other in the lips to form an arterial ring.
The upper lip is irrigated by the superior labial branches of the facial and infraorbital arteries.
The lower lip is vascularized by the inferior labial branches of the facial and mental arteries.
There are two branches up and two down from the facial: the two upper ones participate in the irrigation of the upper lip, and the two lower branches participate in the irrigation of the lower lip.
