01 – THE DE RUNE LEGACY
In this first chapter of our A Plague Tale: Innocence Walkthrough, we will take control of the young Amicia De Rune on the worst day of her life. But for the moment, we meet the girl with her father and her dog during a hunting trip in the forest.
Progress through the Forest
Start by following your father into the forest (picture1). As you approach Lion, Amicia’s dog, you realize that yes, you can pet the dog in A Plague Tale: Innocence (picture2). Pass under the tree trunk that your father lifts to reach an apple tree (picture3). This passage will teach you the basics of sling shooting, one of the central mechanics of A Plague Tale: Innocence’s gameplay.

Gather Rocks for the Sling and Shoot at the Apples
First, go retrieve the stones that are near a dead tree on your right (picture4). The stone bags contain six stones. Your father’s challenge is to shoot the six apples in 10 seconds. It goes without saying that you can’t miss any shot to achieve this feat. When you prepare to shoot, focus to the maximum (picture5) to reduce the aiming reticle, and then shoot (picture6). In reality, the test is not really important and there is no Achievement/Trophy to reward you if you succeed. Your father mentions the noise of the sling, which will be a very important element later in the chapter.

Follow Lion
Lion then starts to hunt something and goes deep into the woods. Follow them, and learn to crouch down (picture7) as well as to jump over obstacles (picture8). Finally, you arrive near a clearing where there is a young boar. Pick up the stone bag (picture9), and crouch down while waiting for your father. The latter suggests a discreet approach by the tall grass.

Sneak Up on the Young Wild Boar
Crouch down in the tall grass to stay perfectly silent and invisible (picture10). Unfortunately, the boar faces you, and detects you immediately when you arm your sling (picture11).

Shoot at the Wild Boar’s Head
Your father suggests that you shoot the boar in the head from a more discreet angle. Follow the small boar into the clearing, and use the tall grass to find an angle from where you can shoot it in the head (picture12). When you succeed, a cutscene is triggered. The boar is not dead and runs away, with Lion after him.

Find Lion
Follow the two animals on the left track when the path widens in the forest (picture13). After wading through the mud, you come across the largely devoured carcass of the wild boar (picture14). Lion’s barking having stopped, hurry to find it a little further away (picture15). A new cutscene is triggered and the game title screen appears.

Find Beatrice in Hugo’s Quarters
You take back control of Amicia once back in the De Rune castle. Your objective is to join your mother Beatrice in Hugo’s quarters but we will take some time in the castle courtyard first. Start by turning right directly from the stable to talk with Theo. The latter tells you that he has installed targets in the back of the barn so you can train with your sling (picture16). Before reaching the shooting range, enter the last box in the stable to find a ladder (picture17). Go up the latter to find the first collectible of the adventure, the “Duck Whistle” Gift (picture18).

Then go behind the stable and collect stones for your sling (picture19). Then destroy the six jars that are aligned on the crates (picture20) to obtain the “More Practice” Achievement/Trophy (picture21).

Then cross the courtyard to the chapel where you can say a short prayer for Lion at the altar. Continue in the direction of the De Rune residence to meet Gabrielle (picture22), a servant who confirms that Beatrice is upstairs with your brother Hugo. Enter the castle so that Amicia closes the door behind her (picture23). Make sure you have collected the Duck Whistle and destroyed the jars at the shooting range before entering.

Now that you are in the entrance of the castle, take the door on the right first to reach the dining room (picture24). Then pass the door on the left towards the pantry and kitchen. Climb up the ladder in the pantry (picture25) to find a second collectible, the “Spices” Curiosity (picture26).

Now return to the entrance of the castle and turn left to reach the upper floor (picture27). Louise, another servant, leaves Hugo’s quarters and invites you to pick up an object in your room (picture28). Do not pass through the door of Hugo’s quarters, in which case a cutscene will be activated, preventing you from visiting your room.

Instead, take the corridor and enter the first room on the left (picture29). On the bed is the last collectible of the chapter, the “Tablecloth” curiosity (picture30). Now that you have visited all the rooms of the castle, pass through the door of Hugo’s quarters to trigger a cutscene (picture31).

Find Hugo
Enter your mother’s study (picture32), and go back from room to room to Hugo’s room. Go interact with the sheet at the end of the room to find your brother Hugo and trigger a cutscene (picture33).

Escape from the House
The Inquisition is looking for Hugo and your escort mission begins. Use the button that appears on the screen to call Hugo (picture34). The latter then takes Amicia’s hand, which allows you to lead both characters at the same time. Go into the room on the left and wait for a guard to break down the door and enter your mother’s study to reach the corridor (picture35).

Wait until the guard eliminates Louise (picture36) and goes deep into the corridor of the rooms to quickly reach the ground floor by the stairs (picture37). Walk through the entrance hall of the castle while another guard attacks a servant (picture38).

Once in the dining room, go around the tables and reach the kitchen (picture39). Interact with the door (picture40) to trigger a cutscene during which you meet your mother.

Follow Beatrice
This sequence is extremely scripted and will teach you most of the mechanics you will need to use later in the game to progress with Hugo. Follow Beatrice and go into the tall grass (pictures41-42) to discreetly cross the area, and then pass behind the back of the next guard (picture43).

A little further on, you have to slip into a building by helping Hugo cross the wall (picture44). On the other side, you will have to use your first diversion to make a guard move. Collect the stones on the bench and throw one at the chest full of armor parts on the left. Remember your father’s comment about the noise of your sling, throwing a stone by hand allows for greater discretion by sacrificing power (picture45). Once the guard leaves to inspect the chest, follow your mother.

Repeat the same thing a little further on by throwing a stone at the scarecrow stoves (picture46). The next obstacle is more difficult since there is no metal object in sight to throw a stone at. Instead, pick up one of the jars from the bench (picture47), and throw it away as a diversion. A white halo appears on the enemies who will hear the sound of the impact (picture48).

Continue your progression in the gardens until you reach a locked door (picture49). Amicia notices a small hole in the wall that would allow Hugo to slip on the other side. Use the button appearing on the screen to send Hugo to the hole (picture50) in order for him to unlock the door from the other side. Wait for the guard to cross the field and follow your mother to a small building. Go through the window and wait for Hugo to climb it by himself (picture51). The sequence is scripted and allows youto see that Hugo is able to overcome certain obstacles on his own, but that it will take him much longer than you.

A little further on, help him to cross the gate (picture52), and go to Beatrice in the tall grass (picture53). A guard patrols and you won’t have time to cross without a little diversion. Ask Hugo to wait for you and cross the wall to pick up a pot on the opposite bench (picture54).

Hide in the tall grass on the left and throw the pot to distract the enemy and make sure that a white halo is on top of him to confirm that he heard the noise (picture55). Then ask Hugo to join you when the guard is distracted (picture56).

You only have one more obstacle left to complete this section of the chapter. Pick up the stone bag and hide in the tall grass. Throw a stone at the scarecrow to lure the guard (picture57). When he finishes his inspection (picture58), go to the back door to trigger a cutscene (picture59).

Escape the Inquisition
You are now alone with Hugo and must flee before the Inquisition can get its hands on your brother (picture60). Run in a straight line without worrying about the torches in the forest (picture61). Quickly you will find that what killed Lion is now attacking your pursuers. Don’t hang around and head for the river (picture62) to finish this first chapter of our A Plague Tale: Innocence Guide.

02 – THE STRANGERS
Just out of the water after escaping the Inquisition, we meet again with Amicia and Hugo as they search for Hugo’s doctor, Laurentius, in this new part of our A Plague Tale: Innocence Guide.
Find Help
Walk along the dirt path until you reach what looks like a market place (picture1). Directly on your right is a pontoon on which there is the “Amulets and Talismans” Gift (picture2). Once you have recovered it, walk into the market to see Hugo running to a stand looking for an apple (picture3). After Amicia’s warnings, Hugo comes back to her but still wants to find something to eat, a secondary objective that we will complete a little further on.

Enter the city and take a look at the black smoke rising in the sky (picture4). The city is strangely empty and you can try knocking at the doors to try to find help, but without success. The villagers seem to flee from you and close their doors on your way. When the track is divided into two branches (picture5), take the right track towards a small stone bridge (picture6).

Cross the latter and turn directly to the right between the houses (picture7). In this small courtyard, you will find the “Soap” curiosity on a stool near the corner of a house (picture8). Resume your exploration of the village until you reach a district where Hugo notices white crosses painted on the doors (picture9). An epidemic ravaged the village and that explains the behaviour of the villagers.

Continue to progress until you see a track on your right, where there is an apple tree (picture10). Get close to the tree and pick an apple (picture11) to offer it to your brother and thus unlock the “Feeding the Hungry” Achievement / Trophy (picture12). Go back on your way towards the smoke to quickly find its source.

Escape the Villagers
After the cutscene, you are chased by the villagers. Run into the alleys, while anticipating what’s ahead of you. Turn left when a villager arrives in front (picture13), and then enter the alley on the right to enter a building (picture14).

Unfortunately, a villager is inside and blocks your exit. Throw a stone at the stoves hanging on the wall (picture15), and wait for the man to come down to go around him and climb the stairs to get out (picture16).

Once outside, the pursuit resumes again (picture17). Go into the streets and when you see a gate at the end of an alleyway, turn left to help your brother climb a low wall (picture18).

Enter the building where there is a large crate on wheels. With Hugo, push it against the back wall and then climb on it (pictures19-20). In the second room, look up to see a crate hanging from a chain. Use your sling to shoot at the ring and drop the crate (picture21).

Then push the latter against the wall to get out of the building (picture22). Back in the village streets, a woman sees you at her window and alerts the other villagers (picture23). Enter the courtyard and have Hugo climb upper the ladder against the back wall, despite his warnings (picture24). The ladder breaks and prevents you from following him.

React quickly by crossing the left fence (picture25). Take out your sling and aim for the ring that holds the crate to drop it (picture26), then wait for Hugo to push it. Climb up to join your brother and then crouch down quickly to spy discreetly on Conrad below (picture27).

Continue on your way until you come across two villagers who are blocking your progress. Throw a stone at the right scarecrow (picture28) to quickly reach the left path (picture29). Follow it up to the tall grass and pick up a jar. Throw it away as shown in the picture below to attract the man in this direction (picture30), and go towards the street on the left.

The chase resumes immediately after you pass the gate. At the end of the street, open the door to take refuge in a house (picture31). Quickly pass through the second room and help Hugo to pass through the small window on the right (picture32) so that he can open the door for you from the outside. Finally your race leads you into a dead end where everything seems lost (picture33), but an old woman helps you and welcomes you into her home.

Take the Clothes from the Chest on the Upper Floor
The latter invites you to go upstairs to pick up some dry clothes. Reach the bedroom and first collect the last Collectible of the chapter, the “Incense and Herbs” Curiosity (picture34). Then interact with the big chest to trigger a cutscene (picture35). Now go back down to the old woman named Clervie. She notices that you have a sling and suggests that you fix it using her workbench in the back room.

Take the Piece of Leather from the Backyard and the Tools from near the Workbench
Go through this room and first pick up the tools to the left of the workbench (picture36). Then go out into the courtyard and pick up the leather that is directly to your left (picture37). Now that you have all the necessary materials, enter the house again and interact with the workbench (picture38).

Fix the Sling on the Workbench
From the upgrades menu, you just have what you need to fix the sling. This upgrade increases the speed of the projectiles and now makes it possible to kill a target with a head shot (picture39). Once fixed, you can see the many upgrades that will be possible for Amicia’s sling and equipment. You can consult the upgrades menu at any time from the game menu. After fixing the sling, go back to Clervie to trigger a cutscene.

Follow and Protect Hugo
Hugo has just fled and you must pursue him through the streets of the village before he is killed. Walk through the courtyard door (picture40), and run up the street. When Hugopasses under a portcullis, climb the low wall on the left (picture41), and continue your journey in the alleys most affected by the epidemic. After a moment, you receive an alarming message warning you that Hugo has just been attacked and that he may die if you do not help him (picture42).

Go in his direction and arm your sling to kill his attacker with a shot to the head (picture43). After this first and difficult murder for Amicia, resume your journey towards the church. The young boy is caught by Conrad, who is wearing a full armor (picture44). With the gate stuck, climb the left wall to enter the church courtyard (picture45).

The confrontation is now inevitable but your sling can do nothing against your assailant’s armor (picture46). A simple blow of his enormous mace is synonymous with immediate death. You must use the dodge button at the right time (picture47), and take advantage of your opponent’s slowness to shoot at the two fasteners in his back with your sling in order to strip off the chest part of his armor (picture48).

With his chest now vulnerable, shoot at the ring on it to drop the protection on his neck (picture49). A last dodge allows you to hit the ring behind his head in order to drop his helmet (picture50). Then all you have to do is to shoot one last stone into Conrad’s head to kill him (picture51), and finish this second chapter of our A Plague Tale: Innocence Walkthrough.

03 – RETRIBUTION
In this new part of the A Plague Tale: Innocence Walkthrough, Amicia and Hugo explore the church where they found refuge at the end of the Chapter 2. Still looking for Laurentius, they think they can get some information from the priests.
Explore the Church
The chapter begins directly in the church and Hugo goes to explore the place by himself (picture1). Wait until he lights a candle for his parents and comes back to you to continue exploring the area. You notice that from now on, you can find crafting materials pretty much everywhere (picture2). We will not describe their location, but it is strongly recommended to search the area thoroughly in order to upgrade your equipment as quickly as possible.

At the back of the church to the right of the nave, there is the chapter’s first Collectible, the “Rosary” Gift, on a stone table (picture3). You then notice that a barricade has been erected at the exit (picture4), forcing you to find an alternative path. Return to the entrance of the church to find a ladder leaning against a wall and leading to a broken stained glass window (picture5).

Follow the Priest
Climb with Hugo to meet a priest who tells you to leave the area (picture6). Follow this priest through two large rooms where several crafting materials are located. Once in the courtyard where you saw the priest, Hugo lets go off Amicia’s hand to approach the flowers (picture7). This is a new type of Collectible, there are a total of 13 flowers that will complete Hugo’s Herbarium. Collect this first flower which is a “Carnation” (picture8).

Then continue in the corridor to a small inner courtyard (picture9) where you finally catch up with the priest who presents himself as Father Thomas. Thomas agrees to help you and asks you to follow him closely to enjoy the halo of his torch (picture10). Walk into the room and then the corridor until you trigger a cutscene during which the poor priest meets his creator (picture11).

Escape the Rats
Serious matters start now, as you have to escape the rats in the area, rats which fortunately fear the light. Move the torch forward to the stairs at the back of the room (picture12). At the end of the corridor, an obstacle forces you to give up your torch. Place it on the wall bracket (picture13), and climb the barricade with Hugo.

In the next corridor, pick up a stick (picture14), and light it with the candle (picture15). Unlike torches, sticks burn very quickly and are only a temporary solution. Cross the corridor with the burning stick to reach the stairs (picture16).

Reach the Entrance to the Crypt
On the upper floor, you can see the three statues mentioned by Father Thomas indicating the crypt and therefore the exit of the monastery (picture17). Climb the barricade on the right with Hugo (picture18), the direct path being overrun with rats. In the new corridor, you can see braziers that light up part of the area. Use your sling to drop the brazier that is hanging from the ceiling so that you can cross safely (picture19).

With the back door closed, enter the room on the left. Directly to your left is a ladder that you must climb (picture20). From this high position, use your sling to shoot at the ring that holds the brazier in the air (picture21). By breaking it, you create a pendulum effect that will allow you to cross without risk. But note the opening in the middle of its trajectory, in the right wall (picture22).

Go down the ladder and wait for the brazier to light up the side of the room you are in to engage. Halfway up, climb the right wooden board (picture23) to reach a dark room that contains many materials and the “Brew” Curiosity (picture24).

Then wait until the brazier is in the right position to exit the room and reach the back corridor. Climb the stairs until you find a workbench and a tool (picture25) that will help you upgrade your equipment. At this point you should be able to upgrade your pocket to be able to carry more materials (picture26).

The next room is a large kitchen where no light source allows you to pass through. Look up at the ceiling to see two large hams hanging from the ceiling. Use your sling to drop them both (pictures27-28), and open a passage in the middle of the rat tide. Leave the room by passing over the overturned table at the back right (picture29).

Walk down the hallway to a door that you need to unlock. On the other side, a new situation presents itself to you. Once again, there is no light source that allows you to move around the room. Climb on the tables (picture30), and move forward until you see a new ham hanging against a wall (picture31). Drop it with your sling and then get off the table. A torch is located on the other side of a grid (picture32).

Quickly press the button that appears on the screen to lift the boards (picture33), and allow Hugo to pass underneath. He grabs the torch but gets stuck on the other side. Move forward together by sticking to the grid to take advantage of the torch light. At the end, an opening allows you to take the torch in hand (picture34), while Amicia asks her brother to continue through a hole in the wall.

Armed with the torch, you can now explore the room safely to recover several crafting objects. Then place the torch on the bracket against the wall and climb the barricade (picture35). You soon hear Hugo scream for help a little further. Pick up a stick, light it with a candle, and use the same stick to ignite a brazier on the ground (picture36).

You then see Hugo upstairs, safe but trapped by many rats. Use your sling on the two ceiling braziers (picture37). Light them one after the other witha stick (picture38), and wait for Hugo to drop a third one. Light it up (picture39) so that Hugo can join you.

Before leaving the area, climb up the ladder he just used (picture40) to reach the upper level where you find the last collectible of the chapter, the “Crusader Tabard” Curiosity (picture41), as well as a crafting tool (picture42).

Now go back to the beginning of the room and, always with a burning stick, reach the door at the far right (picture43). You then arrive at the entrance of the crypt where you can also find a workbench to upgrade your equipment (picture44).

Leave the Monastery
Cross the barricade (picture45) and go down into the crypt. Pick up a stick and light it on the candle (picture46) before rushing into a corridor covered with a strange matter (picture47).

At the end of the corridor, quickly use your piece of wood to light the brazier (picture48), then pick up a new one to continue in the crypt to a second brazier (pictures49-50).

You can now see the daylight at the back of a long area immersed in darkness. Walk over the barricade (picture51), and run towards the stairs to find the sunlight (picture52), and finish this part of our A Plague Tale: Innocence Guide.

At the end of the corridor, quickly use your piece of wood to light the brazier (picture48), then pick up a new one to continue in the crypt to a second brazier (pictures49-50).

04 – THE APPRENTICE
After they escaped the monastery, we meet Amicia and Hugo again, in this new part of the A Plague Tale: Innocence Guide, as they set off for Laurentius’s farm and try to get there before nightfall.
Reach Laurentius’s Farm
Follow the road and, when you see barriers on the right, go off the trail and go back up to find a small camp (picture1). Against a tree stump, there is the first collectible of the chapter, the “Hermetic Vessel” Curiosity (picture2). Return to the dirt road and continue until you reach a guard post where two soldiers of the Inquisition block your way (picture3).

Wait until they separate by hiding in the tall grass, and then throw a stone at the chest full of armor (picture4). Wait for the guard to come and examine the origin of the sound, and when he goes back to his post, sneak behind his back, while crouching to be more stealthy, and hide behind the tree trunks (picture5).

Then go down to get the vase near the cart, and divert the second soldier’s attention (picture6) to continue to the right. Walk up the path to a cart (picture7), and wait for the new guard to turn his back on you to retrieve the contents of the chest (picture8). From this chapter on, you will find these large chests containing crafting materials everywhere.

Then go into the tall grass and wait for Amicia to mention a hole in the wall of the house. Then throw a stone at the scarecrow (picture9), and send Hugo into the house (picture10) to open the shutter. Throw a new stone at the scarecrow before reaching the house, the timing in the guard’s patrol being too short without this diversion (picture11).

Inside the small building, you will find a tool (picture12), and vases. Use one of them to distract the second guard as shown in the picture below (picture13). Then quickly reach the tall grass to watch a conversation on the bridge leading to Laurentius’s Farm (picture14). You’re going to have to take a detour to find the doctor.

The guards on the bridge turn their backs on you, allowing you to reach the sawmill safely. Hide behind the trunks and wait for the guard to turn his back on you to progress inside the building (picture15). Collect the vase from the top of the stairs, and throw it away (picture16) so that you can quickly climb out of the building with Hugo (picture17). You then find a workbench where you can continue to upgrade your equipment.

Continue along the river until you reach a vineyard where Hugo lets go of your hand and goes into hiding (picture18). Switch to stealth mode, and walk along the field from the left, discreetly climbing up each row until you see your little brother turning his back on you. Slip discreetly behind him (picture19) to see a button appear on the screen (picture20). If you manage to find him without him hearing you, you will be rewarded with the “Found!” Achievement/Trophy.

Now return to the entrance of the field and stick to the right along the river to find a boat wreck with the “Diary of an Alchemist” Gift on it (picture21). Go up the field until you see a house with new soldiers of the Inquisition. Enter the house through the window (picture22), and pick up the pot inside. Slip into the tall grass, and throw the pot as shown in the picture below to distract the guard (picture23), while paying attention to the second guard who’s patrolling in the area.

Reach the next patch of tall grass and, while still watching the guard on patrol, throw a stone at the scarecrow (picture24) to retrieve the contents of the chest and reach the other patch of tall grass a little further up. Continue up to the next zone where two guards block your way. Collect the stones, quickly throw one stone at the chest full of armor parts on the right (picture25), and another at the left scarecrow (picture26) to distract the two guards at the same time, and reach the tall grass a little further away.

Then wait until the next two guards are in the same position as in our picture (picture27) to be able to reach the tall grass without risk. From the tall grass, wait one last time for the soldier with a torch to pass by you (picture28) to reach the last high grass of the area and enter the right ruins (picture29).

You are now out of reach and can take a break. Climb the wall with Hugo, and walk along the path. Hugo then has a seizure that forces you to carry him on your back. Once in sight of Laurentius’s Farm, the rats make their return. Cross the red mud to see that it slows you down greatly, and that you will have to avoid it at all costs for the next section (picture30). So follow the path made of boards to stay dry (picture31), and run from torch to torch to stay safe from the rats threat (picture32).

When the path is finally blocked, use your sling to break the barrier that holds animal carcasses (picture33). Cross over on the corpses and go pick up a stick near the cart. Do not light it at the campfire but rather at the torch which is the closest to the path you will follow (picture34), or you’ll risk seeing it completely consumed before you reach the next fire (picture35).

Take a stick again, and go light the fire on the cart a little higher (picture36). Then push the cart with Hugo to make your way to Laurentius’s Farm at the top of the hill (picture37).

Find Laurentius
Before entering the doctor’s house (picture38), go to the back of the garden (picture39) to find a new flower for Hugo’s Herbarium, an “Aquilegia” (picture40).

With all the doors of the house closed, send Hugo through the window so he can open from the inside (picture41). Then search all the rooms on the ground floor, and use the workbench to upgrade your equipment (picture42).

Then go upstairs and startby visiting the room at the far right (picture43) to find the last collectible of the chapter, the “Vitriol” curiosity (picture44). Then enter the room on the left to trigger a cutscene where you will find Laurentius and his young assistant Lucas. He suggests you to go to the Chateau d’Ombrage, and asks his assistant to take you to the barn to make some Ignifer.

Enter Laurentius’s Laboratory
The rats took advantage of the conversation to slip into the house. Use your sling to destroy the lantern against the wall (picture45), and then drop the two suspended hams to reach the door (picture46).

Follow Lucas to the barn to see that it is full of rats that prevent you from reaching the laboratory (picture47). Go out and interact with the big bag of grains (picture48). Pull it to the barn with Lucas to attract the pig inside (picture49).

Get out of the barn again and follow Lucas who installs a ladder (picture50). From this position, use your sling to destroy the two lanterns, and thus feed the pig to the rats (picture51).

Grab the Materials for Lucas
Go down the ladder and enter the laboratory (picture52). Lucas then asks you to combine sulphur and alcohol. Search the area for ingredients and then join him (picture53). He then teaches you how to make Ignifer (picture54). This is when the rats enter the laboratory, giving you a perfect excuse to use your new gadget.

Light the Embers with an Ignifer and Go Back to Laurentius
Throw the Ignifer on the embers in the center of the room to light them back on (picture55), and repel the rats. Go up the stairs and use another Ignifer on the right embers (picture56) to reach the ladder. Once outside, make some Ignifer to light the embers below (picture57), and go down the ladder to trigger a cutscene.

Flee from Laurentius’s Farm
Laurentius’s Farm is now lost and your only chance of survival is to reach the river. Follow the path lit by the haystacks, and light the ones already extinguished with Ignifer (picture58). Once at the foot of the mill, use your sling with Ignifer to ignite one of the mill blades (picture59).

05 – THE RAVENS’ SPOILS
Now accompanied by Laurentius’ apprentice, Lucas, we meet Amicia and Hugo again, while they’re on their way to the Chateau d’Ombrage, in this new part of our A Plague Tale: Innocence Walkthrough.
Follow the Aqueduct
Follow the river bank towards the aqueduct until Hugo disappears in the distance (picture1). Pass under the broken trunk to find him with the shield of an English soldier (picture2). Then walk along the left bank to find access to a clearing (picture3).

Climb up towards this clearing and Hugo will take your hand again. Continue on the left (picture4) until you reach a new flower for Hugo’s Herbarium, “Gladiolus” (picture5). Return to the aqueduct and progress until you come across a huge battlefield (picture6).

Cross the Battlefield
Pass over the bodies while following the torches in the distance until you fall on a horse carcass. As you approach the corpse explodes (picture7), and hundreds of rats come out of it. Look on your left to find a brazier (picture8) that you can revive with Ignifer. Slip under the trunk and light the haystack (picture9) to reach the torches in the distance.

A little further on you see two looters fleeing (picture10). Continue in their direction and use an Ignifer to reach the huge catapult (picture11). Using your sling, set the end of the catapult on fire as shown in the picture below (picture12).

Then activate the crank with Lucas (picture13), and send Hugo to get a piece of wood (picture14). Light on the latter to move to the next torch. Crouch quickly in the tall grass because a guard arrives in your direction (picture15).

Equip your stones on the sling and shoot at the lantern in his hand to expose him to the rats (picture16). Take advantage of the fact that the rats are busy eating his dead body (picture17) to reach the stone bridge. On the right, you can climb up the rocks to reach a chest containing some precious resources. Then follow the direction of the siege tower.

Use an Ignifer to light the brazier (picture18), and then use your sling to break the ring that holds the tower closed (picture19). There is a guard inside with a torch that you cannot shut off. Aim for the soldier’s head with your sling to eliminate him (picture20).

Enter the tower to find a tool (picture21), as well as materials and a workbench. Pick up a stick and move in the direction of the cart (picture22). Light on its brazier and push it towards the left slope where there is a guard (picture23).

Eliminate him with a shot to the head (picture24), and continue pushing the cart to the trunk where the “Wheat Flail” Curiosity is located (picture25). Go down the slope with the cart again, and head for the second guard. The latter having a helmet, shoot at his lantern so that the rats can take care of him (picture26). Push the cart until it gets stuck a little further.

Continue along the path until you come across a guard who turns his back on you. Hide behind the wall and note the torch a little further away (picture27). Tell Hugo and Lucas to wait for you and slip behind the guard’s back (picture28) until you can pick up the torch (picture29).

Quickly return to the two young boys, and continue on your way until you have to climb. Place the torch on the bracket (picture30), and help your brother to climb. Then equip your sling to shoot at the two rings holding the bodies of soldiers, and open a path in the middle of the swarm of rats (picture31). Before joining the siege engine, squeeze the left corner to find a chest and the “Oliphant” curiosity on a dead body (picture32).

Then light the fire near the siege engine (picture33), and climb inside. Grab the torch from the wall (picture34), and start moving forward slowly. You notice that a guard is stuck at the end and that if you keep moving forward, the rats will eventually devour him (picture35).

Halfway through, stop to place your torch on a new holder (picture36). Then equip your sling with Ignifer to light the torch near the guard (picture37), saving his life (picture38). You will then obtain the “Savior” Achievement/Trophy.

Take the torch again and continue until you reach the exit at the back left (picture39). Jump into the mud below and search the chest directly on your left to find a tool (picture40). A little further on, you come across a guard that is impossible to distract or eliminate. Lucas then gives you ingredients and teaches you a new alchemical formula, Somnum (picture41).

Craft a dose of it (picture42), and slide behind the soldier’s back to neutralize him (picture43). Then approach the catapult and look in the upper left corner to find an extinguished fire. Use your sling with Ignifer to turn it back on (picture44).

Then ask Lucas to activate the machine (picture45). After a few seconds, the catapult allows you to reach the stairs without risk (picture46). Use Ignifer to light the torch behind the grid (picture47), and send Hugo into the hole to lookfor a stick.

Light the stick on the torch (picture48), and then move in the direction of the fire you lit earlier in the upper corner (picture49). Next to this fire, strongly reminiscent of a certain Dark Souls, you find the last collectible of the chapter, the “Ballastella (Jacob’s Staff)” gift (picture50). Pick up a stick and come back to Lucas. You must now repeat the entire process with the catapult to retrieve a stick with Hugo but, this time, ask Lucas to activate the catapult again in order to join him with your stick intact in hand.

Light it on the brazier next to the catapult (picture51) to reach the torch a little further. As you move towards the second torch, you witness the collapse of a part of the aqueduct (picture52). Take the left path towards a workbench. Use Ignifer on the haystack (picture53), then climb on the trunk to reach a cart.

This time, you will not push it but follow it as he rolls down the slope. Use your sling to detach it (picture54), and follow it while staying on the wooden boards on the ground (picture55). Go under the aqueduct and look directly to your left where there is a guard. Wait until he moves to shoot at the ring of the burning tower (picture56). You then drop burning corpses that get rid of the soldier while providing you with a source of light.

Then turn around and use Ignifer to light the torch (picture57) in order to pick up a stick. Light it on the last torch and follow the direction of the burning bodies (picture58). At the end of the path, climb the remains of the aqueduct with Hugo (picture59).

Go up the path while remaining crouched as English soldiers are carrying bodies (picture60). Wait until they move to the right to continue your progress. Higher up, throw a stone at the chest containing helmets to distract the guard (picture61), and then continue along the path.

06 – DAMAGED GOODS
This part of our A Plague Tale: Innocence Guide is dedicated to the sixth chapter of the adventure, Damaged Goods, where our two heroes are separated for the first time after being captured by English soldiers.
Find Hugo
After Melie has freed you from your cage, you find yourself without any equipment, sling or inventory (picture1). Follow the girl until you reach a guard that you cannot pass without help. You must rely on Melie’s brother, Arthur, to create a distraction. You have the choice of the source of said distraction. Choose the cart in this first case (picture2), and quickly follow Melie to the tent a little further away (picture3).

A little further on, you have to choose a new source of distraction. Choose the barrel of spears (picture4), and quickly enter the next tent. Be particularly careful with the bottles on the ground that could wake up the guards (picture5).

Before following Melie further, stop in the left corner of the tent and watch the guard’s patrol (picture6) to pick up the “Knucklebones” Gift on the table (picture7). You can also retrieve a tool near the cut wood (picture8).

Follow Melie through the camp again (picture9), and go hide in the tall grass near the shooting range. Wait for the archer to go see his target closely, and then return to his initial position, to slip towards the other patch of tall grass (picture10).

Continue like this until you reach a new area where you have to call on Arthur. This time choose the pot on the fire (picture11) to slip discreetly under the crane (picture12), and to the tent in the distance.

Wait for the two soldiers to finish their conversation (picture13) to follow Melie to another tent (picture14). Inside the latter is a locked chest. After a short conversation you can call the young thief to open it (picture15).

Get out of the tent, and walk along the right barricade (picture16) to find a small room where you can find the “Pound Sterling” curiosity (picture17). Then follow Melie into the canteen, paying attention to the many bottles on the ground that could wake the soldiers up (picture18).

Free Hugo
Continue to follow Melie until a gathering of soldiers around the cage where Hugo is held prisoner (picture19). Wait for a man to announce your disappearance so that all the soldiers can disperse (picture20). Approach Hugo’s cage and interact with him to learn where your equipment is located (picture21).

Ask Melie to open the chest to get your sling back (picture22). Shoot at the ring that holds Hugo’s cage (picture23), and then ask Melie to pick its lock (picture24) to bring the brother and sister back together.

Leave the Camp
Now that you’ve found Hugo, you have to find a way out of the camp. If you can try a discreet exit, you have earned the right to a little revenge. Not all soldiers in the area have helmets and can therefore be eliminated by a head shot (pictures25-26-27). It is strongly recommended to adopt this approach in order to search the camp for many crafting resources.

Following the central path, search the tents on the left just after the horse pen (picture28) to find the last collectible of the chapter, the “Declaration of War” curiosity, on a stool behind a stand (picture29). Survive and Escape the Camp
Take advantage of Arthur’s diversion to escape. Arm your sling to eliminate the two guards who arrive in front of you (picture30), then follow Melie up the ladder (picture31).

07 – THE PATH BEFORE US
Just after escaping the clutches of the English and the Inquisition, we meet Amicia and Hugo again as they follow Melie to find Lucas, in this new part of our A Plague Tale: Innocence Walkthrough.
Follow Melie and Cross the River
Start by following Melie until you reach an old mill. Wait until the young thief opens the door (picture1), and then walk through the building to find yourself confronted with a problem. To cross the river, you will have to slow down the mill blades. First activate the right lever with Amicia (picture2). Then ask Melie to activate the crank (picture3).

Your combined actions stop the mill allowing you to ask Hugo to go and activate the lever on the other side (picture4). Then release your lever and cross over to use the crank (picture5). All you have to do then is to tell Melie to let go of her crank and join you (picture6).

Reach Melie’s Hideout
Once in front of the workbench, take out your sling and shoot at the lock of the door (picture7). Then give Melie a leg up (picture8) so that she can help you climb up in the building, and take the first collectible of the chapter, the “Horseshoe” Curiosity (picture9).

Go back near the workbench and interact with the boards that stand in your way (picture10)so you can continue towards an old abandoned village. Once in front of the well, in the center of the village, take the right track (picture11) up to a ruined house where you find a new flower for Hugo’s Herbarium, a “Hawthorn” (picture12).

Go back to Melie and follow her until Hugo has another seizure. Interact with him to reassure him, and take him on your back (picture13). Continue to follow Melie to a ruined house and help her lift the hatch to trigger a cutscene (picture14).

Escape the Inquisition
The Inquisition has found you again, and you have to flee one more time. Follow Melie through the tunnels until you reach the exit where a guard stands. The latter has a helmet that prevents you from neutralizing him with a shot to the head. Fortunately Melie gives you some ingredients and teaches you a new alchemical formula, Devorantis (picture15). Make a dose of it (picture16), and use your sling to shoot at the guard’s helmet (picture17).

Quickly equip a stone and shoot at him once he has removed his helmet (picture18). From now on, you have enough tools to give you more options during your future confrontations with soldiers. We will continue to describe the methods we use, but you can very easily find alternatives. Reach the tall grass and start by neutralizing the right guard who is searching in a crate (picture19). The latter has no helmet and a simple shot to the head is enough to kill him. Then use your second dose of Devorantis to take care of the second guard’s helmet (picture20), and shoot at his head with a stone.

Continue to progress in the forest until you come across a large group of Inquisition soldiers (picture21). Walk along the area on the right and neutralize one of the few soldiers without a helmet (picture22). Hide in the tall grass and distract the second guard without a helmet with a pot or eliminate him with a stone (picture23), but know that the other soldiers will quickly find his body and start to search you.

On your right, there is a small camp with two soldiers. The soldier in the back is examining a map that is one of the mission’s collectibles. Use an Ignifer to light on the torch again, as shown in the picture below (picture24). Then, wait until the guard approaches to use a dose of Devorantis on his helmet (picture25), and neutralize him immediately by shooting a stone at his head before he alerts his comrades.

Do the same on the second soldier near the table (picture26), and then grab the “Map” curiosity (picture27). Enter the tall grass and watch the soldier’s patrol to slip behind his back in order to reach the next patch of tall grass (picture28). Then continue towards the portcullis that is closed, and go to the right to find an unlocked door.

Save Lucas
You then come across Lucas who is escorted by an Inquisition soldier. Make a dose of Devorantis (picture29), and take care of the soldier to help your friend. Now that you are finally together, it is time to resume your quest for the aqueduct and the Chateau Ombrage (picture30).

Find the Aqueduct
On the way, you come across an abandoned Inquisition chariot surrounded by rats. Lucas then gives you ingredients, and teaches you a new alchemical formula, one of the most powerful and expensive in the game, Luminosa (pictures31-32). Throw the potion among the rats to kill them and create a temporary light source (picture33). Note that if you have a Luminosa left in your inventory while you are submerged by rats, you will have a chance to use it to save yourself, but the extremely expensive manufacture cost of this preparation greatly penalizes your ability to upgrade your equipment.

Enter the cart to retrieve many resources, a tool (picture34), and also to find a workbench. Then go back to the aqueduct and use your sling to lower the ladder (picture35). You arrive in what appears to be a dead end until Melie discovers a hidden access to the inside of the aqueduct.

Enter the Aqueduct
Slip into the opening (picture36), and move forward until you reach a large cave. Use your sling again to detach a bridge (picture37), and approach the pontoon.

Ask Melie and Lucas to activate the cranks to pull a boat (picture38). Get in the boat with Hugo (picture39), and activate the crank once on the other side to send it back to Melie and Lucas (picture40).

Find the Castle
Once the small group has gathered, wait until Melie opens the door (picture41) to reach a particularly strange room. Lucas uses an Ignifer to light a brazier. Go up the stairs and push the brazier to guide the rats to a hole in the center of the area (picture42). While the boys are waiting, go down the ladder with Melie, and go back up on the other side (picture43).

Go to the far right to activate a brazier with an Ignifer (picture44). Then help Melie push the bridge (picture45) to reach the side where Hugo and Lucas are. While Melie opens the door to allow Hugo and Lucas to join you, pull the brazier you just lit to guide the rats to the central hole (picture46).

Now that the area is safe, cross the bridge and go down the ladder with Hugo (picture47) to leave the area. At the end of the long corridor, open the main door with Melie (picture48) to finally find the Chateau Ombrage.

Reach the Castle
Go up the stairs (picture49) and as soon as you can, go left. You find a house with a closed door that you can ask Melie to open (picture50). Inside, there is the last collectible of the chapter, the “Vinegar of the Four Thieves” Gift (picture51).

Come back to Lucas and wait for a lightning bolt to scare the rats away to reach the other side (pictures52-53). A little further on, you also have to rely on lightning bolts to cross a long corridor, but this time it is way too long to be crossed in one go (picture54).

Use an Ignifer to set fire to both hay bales (picture55) to create safety zones for yourself (picture56). Now go to the entrance of the castle and ask Melie to open the door on the right (picture57). The castle courtyard is a large and complex system built to trap rats. You will have to clean up the area completely to reach the castle’s living quarters.

Reach the Living Quarters and Repel all the Rats into the Pit
Lucas uses an Ignifer to light the brazier below and then sits down with Hugo. Once again, it’s up to Amicia and Melie to take care of the rats. Start by pushing the brazier to the ladder at the back (picture58). The rats then reach the inner circle. Go down the ladder, and take a stick to light a second brazier in the inner circle (picture59). Then climb up the ladder, and activate the crank to guide all the rats to the central trench (picture60).

Now that the path is safe, Melie joins you and can help you lower the bridge (picture61). Cross and light the brazier with an Ignifer (picture62). Go down the ladder, and ask Melie to activate the crank to move the brazier (picture63).

As soon as you wake up, Hugo asks you to follow him into the basement of the castle. Start by collecting materials in the Great Hall, including a tool near the workbench (picture1). Then pass the opening where your brother is waiting for you (picture2), and immediately look to the right to find the first collectible of the chapter, the “Iconography” curiosity (picture3).

Then follow Hugo down the stairs and when he stops on Lucas’ floor (picture4), continue to go further down and he will join you (picture5). Go down to the bottom until you find a lonely grave. Approach the sarcophagus, and wait a little while to get the “Tribute” Achievement / Trophy (picture6).

Help Lucas with the Elixir
Now go back to the laboratory to find Lucas about to make a preparation (picture7). He needs your help to get a vial from the table at the back left (picture8). Pick up this vial and place it on the table where Lucas works. He then asks you to collect the concentrated laurel sap. This vial is on your right on a table (picture9). Place it next to Lucas to watch the experiment fail miserably.

Follow Hugo to the Ramparts
Now go back up to the Great Hall, and follow Hugo towards the castle walls (picture10). Once you have passed the opening, look immediately to your left in the grass to find the “Alchemical Crucible” Gift (picture11). Go up the last row of stairs, and play with the echo to please Hugo (picture12).

Then go talk to Melie a little further away (picture13). After the conversation, take a look behind her to find the “Bird Language Manual” curiosity against the barrel (picture14). Come back to Hugo to examine the courtyard as he asks you to (picture15).

Inspect the Symbol in the Great Hall
Then follow him in the Great Hall to find a mosaic reminiscent of the same symbols (picture16). Finally, follow Hugo in the last part of the castle to trigger a cutscene (picture17). At the end of the latter, approach your brother to find a new type of flower for his herbarium, the “St John’s Wort” (picture18).

09 – IN THE SHADOW OF RAMPARTS
Amicia is forced to leave the security of the Chateau d’Ombrage in this new part of the A Plague Tale: Innocence Walkthrough. She and Melie are heading back to the city to get her hands on a book that could save her younger brother’s life.
Follow Melie
From the beginning of the chapter, follow Melie (picture1), and look to your left to find a flower hidden behind a tree, it is a “Lavender” (picture2). Then walk over the wall while witnessing the evacuation of the city by the Inquisition forces. Continue along the path and ask Melie to open the door for you (picture3). The latter then abandons you to go to the rescue of her own brother.

Find and Reach the University
Go up the stairs and watch out for the guards a little further (picture4). You finally arrive on the rooftops from where you can see the university, your objective for this chapter (picture5). Go down to the right to reach the street, and move forward while crouching to avoid being seen by two guards moving to the left. Slip behind their backs and go hide behind a wooden barricade (picture6).

Use an Ignifer on the torch (picture7), and pick up a stick. Wait until the guard passes near you and go around him to the left, before climbing the barricade at the end of the street (picture8).

Throw a stone at the chest of armors (picture9), and wait for the guard to return to his post to pass behind his back, while taking advantage of the light from his torch. Hide behind the barricade (picture10), throw a new stone at the same chest (picture11) to continue towards the alley at the back left.

Climb up the balconies (picture12), and go get a stick behind the palisade at the back left. Light it on the torch and then go down the stairs among the rats. Hurry to the left corner to light the brazier on the wall (picture13). In the chest next to it, you will find a tool to upgrade your equipment (picture14).

Then return to the stairs and pass under the arch (picture15). After witnessing a conversation between a guard and a woman (picture16), enter the house on the right where a dead body is hanged.

Use your sling to drop it (picture17), and stay hidden until a guard enters the house. Wait until he is near the rats to break his lantern (picture18).

Walk along the left wall and step over the wooden wall (picture19) to reach a chest containing crafting materials, but also the “Sheepskin” Curiosity (picture20). With the door closed, go upstairs to find another door that allows you to exit (picture21).

Go down to the structure where many corpses are hanged, and use your sling to drop one in the middle of the rats (picture22). Take advantage of their voracious appetite to slip underneath, and exit through the left opening. Hide behind the barricade, you have several ways to approach the next section. You can light the torch with an Ignifer (picture23) and use it to neutralize the guard with a Somnum, or a combination of Devorantis and stone.

In both cases, then pick up a stick at the back right and light it on the torch you lit beforehand. Then slip under the structure with the hanged corpses again, and exit quickly through the left exit (picture24). If you are fast enough, you can go to the far left to light a brazier on a wall and collect some equipment from a chest. Then continue to the right and light the torch with an Ignifer (picture25). Wait for the guard to move and return to his original position, then use a pot to distract him (picture26), and continue through the alleys of the city until you reach the cemetery.

With the door locked (picture27), turn right where there is a new invention of the Inquisition, the light beam. Light beams can open a path in the middle of rats. In this first case, simply point the beam at the house to enter without risk (picture28). Inside, there is a workbench and a crafting tool (picture29).

Then climb up the ladder and move discreetly to another light beam. Point it away from the guard to plunge him into darkness and make him vulnerable to rats (picture30). Then go into the next room and use the other beam to block the rats in the right corner (picture31), so that you can reach the window that triggers a cutscene.

You are now inside the cemetery which is full of rats. You have heard the alchemist talk about Episanguis, a crystal that would allow you, with a little sulphur, to make a new potion. Get off the roof, and go across the street to find a group of rats in a ditch. Use an Ignifer to turn on the brazier and then lower it (picture32). You discover some Episanguis (picture33), which allows you to craft some Odoris (picture34). The Odoris attracts rats to the site of the projectile’s impact for a short time.

So throw a vial on the left (picture35), and run quickly to get out of the ditch. The Episanguis also extends the possibilities of improvements for your equipment, do not hesitate to check these new upgrades which may prove very useful in the long term (picture36).

Return to the main path of the cemetery and use a dose of Odoris to clear a path to the flare a little further away (picture37). With the right grid locked for the moment, continue a little further and use a new vial of Odoris (picture38) to reach the light beam located further without risk. Light the right path to block the rats and climb the slope (picture39).

Reach a new light beam and throw an Odoris in the left corner as shown in the picture below (picture40). When all the rats in the area are in the corner, rotate the light beam to block them in this recess (picture41).

You will have to push a cart to progress but first start by climbing the small wall behind the cart (picture42) in order to descend to a ruined cellar. Inside, there is the “Pieces of Transis” Curiosity (picture43). Go up to the cart and push it up the slope to the back left (picture44). Push it against the right wall so you can climb up and out of the cemetery.

Back in the alleys of the city, you come across a real carnage. Go up the street and climb the barricade at the end. A guard is on your way and the game suggests that you use an Odoris on a living being for the first time (picture45). Do this so that the rats will attack him, and then visit the right corner to find a chest containing a crafting tool (picture46).

Then go down the left street and slip under the barricade. Use a stone on the box of armors (picture47) to attract the guard away from the light, and then use an Odoris (picture48) to attract rats to him, thus clearing the bridge (picture49).

Cross said bridge and when you come across two guards (picture50), take the alley on the left. In the lower left corner is a low wall that you can climb (picture51). It leads you to the second Alchemist Cart of the Inquisition, the first being impossible to miss in the chapter 7 “The Path Before Us“. There is an Achievement/Trophy you can unlock if you loot all the alchemist’s carts in the game. To reach this one, however, you must make a dose of Luminosa to kill the rats on the way (picture52).

Then retrieve all the resources from the cart (picture53), use the workbench, and then go back. Jump over the wall again and walk to the gate where you can see a box of armors. Throw a stone at it (picture54) to attract the guard and then return to the main street. Turn the light beam to the right and throw an Odoris towards the alley where the guard has gone. Once all the rats are in the alley, turn the beam to the left to block them with the guard (picture55).

Now walk up the open street and climb the barricade to the back (picture56). Continue until you reach a large square just in front of the university. Use your sling to drop the rat cages in the center (picture57), and then use a pot as shown in the picture below to attract the right guard in the middle of the rats (picture58). Then use your sling to destroy his lantern.

Walk along the path to the right, and then attract the last guard by throwing a stone at the box of armors (picture59) to quickly slip behind him and reach the university (picture60). Immediately on your right are two soldiers heading towards a small covered alcove (picture61).

10 – THE WAY OF ROSES
In this new part of the A Plague Tale: Innocence Guide, Amicia is finally in the university, after having crossed the alleys of the city under martial law. She then sets out in search of Sanguinis Itinera, the mythical book that is supposed to help Lucas fight Hugo’s disease.
Follow the Banners with Roses on Them
The chapter begins in two different places depending on whether you entered through the main door (picture1) or through the back door on the right (picture2). In both cases, you quickly reach a first room where there are two guards (picture3).

Wait until one of them leaves the room and neutralize the other with a shot to the head (picture4). Then push the box towards the upper right corner (picture5) to reach the door on the upper level (picture6).

In the next room (picture7), go down the right stairs and use the various pieces of furniture (picture8) to hide from the alchemist of the Inquisition and the guard (picture9).

Walk through the doors at the back left to reach a large room with two new soldiers. Slip behind their back to join a light beam that blocks rats in a small room (picture10). Rotate the beam as shown in the picture below (picture11) to allow the rats to exit and then use an Odoris to attract them to both guards (picture12).

Now enter the room where the rats were located to find a “Daisy” for Hugo’s Herbarium (picture13). Once the two guards have been eliminated and therats are eating their bodies, leave the room by slipping under the shelves at the back (picture14). You then arrive in a corridor where a prisoner is escorted by two guards (picture15).

The corridor is far too protected for you to follow the procession, so enter the room on your right (picture16). Go behind the crates and use a stone on the chest of armors to distract the two guards (picture17).

In the next room, rotate the light beam to the right (picture18), and then use an Odoris to attract all the rats to the left room (picture19). Then use the beam to illuminate the aperture to prevent them from coming back (picture20).

Walk through the door at the far right (picture21), and use the workbench to upgrade your equipment. Then go up the stairs (picture22), and pass through the door to trigger a long cutscene.

Follow the Prisoner
You must join the prisoner who is the key to getting your hands on the book (picture23). Go down into the room and walk along the right to avoid the two alchemists (picture24).

Wait in the corridor for the prisoner and his two guards to leave (picture25), and then neutralize the soldier on duty with a Devorantis (picture26). On the right bench, you will find the “Study of a Skinned Person” Curiosity (picture27).

Save the Prisoner
Resume your hunt for the prisoner (picture28), and when he finally faces the main door, use your sling to drop the chandelier on the head of the soldier in heavy armor (picture29). The prisoner named Rodric will then take care of the second guard. Go to his side and protect him while he opens the door while soldiers enter the room (picture30).

Follow the Prisoner
Then follow him into the university basement (picture31) and until you reach a door that allows you to take a break (picture32). Continue to a secret library where you can see the Sanguinis Itinera (picture33).

Reach the Book
Now go to the center of the room and activate the left mechanism to lift a shelf (picture37). Rodric announces that he can activate it by himself, so give him the order to activate the mechanism (picture38) to retrieve the crate (picture39).

Go place the latter a little further to the right as in the picture below to be able to climb (picture40). Come back to the left to drop a second crate below (picture41). Then ask Rodric to activate the left mechanism and push the second crate under the lifted shelf (picture42).

Now that all the elements are in place, go up to the shelves and ask Rodric to activate the middle mechanism (picture43). Go through the first part and ask him to let go of the crank to continue to move on (picture44).

Flee from the University
Follow Rodric until you reach a staircase that takes you back to the ground floor of the university (picture47). Walk through the door and progress through the corridor until you unlock a new capacity. You can now ask Rodric to discreetly get rid of an enemy (picture48).

Continue up to a new room where there is a guard. Use a stone on the chest of armors (picture49) to distract him and ask Rodric to take care of him (picture50). Then go to the upper right corner of the room to find a box of materials, but especially the last collectible of the chapter, the “Reading Stone” Gift (picture51).

In the next room, you must use your combined talents. Ask Rodric to neutralize the guard with a helmet (picture52) while you eliminate the second one with your sling. Wait until Rodric is on his target to attack the other soldier (picture53). Then continue in the corridors until you reach a door that takes you back outside (picture54).

A new situation arises where you cannot neutralize a guard on your way. Fortunately, Rodric surprised a conversation a little earlier and provided you with the materials (picture55) and the formula to make an Exstinguis. A new potion capable of extinguishing a fire (picture56). Use the preparation on the brazier next to the soldier so that he can be eaten by the rats (picture57).

11 – ALIVE
In this new part of the A Plague Tale: Innocence Guide, Amicia is back at the Chateau d’Ombrage with the Sanguinis Itinera book, after three weeks of research to find a cure for Hugo.
Ask Rodric to Open the Door and Explore the Corridor
Ask the young blacksmith to break down the door as you did with Melie, but in a much less subtle fashion (picture1). Go up the corridor (picture2) until you reach a new door that Rodric can break in (picture3). This little exploration is quite disappointing as it takes you back to the castle’s large courtyard.

Follow Rodric
Rodric is waiting for you in the middle of the courtyard to show you a few things, but don’t join him right away. After going down the ladder (picture4), stick to the right (picture5) to find a new flower for Hugo’s Herbarium in the middle of the weeds, a “Rhododendron” (picture6).

12 – ALL THAT REMAINS
Faced with Hugo’s deteriorating health, Amicia and Lucas go to the De Rune estate to find what they need to make a remedy, in this new part of the A Plague Tale: Innocence Guide.
Look for Medicine in Hugo’s Wing
At the beginning of the chapter, turn right because the bridge leading to the De Rune estate is destroyed. Cross the river using the fallen trunk (picture1), and then return to the main road. The latter is full of rats that prevent you from progressing (picture2). Climb the path to the right until you see a cart you can let roll down the slope by breaking the chain with your sling (picture3).

Go back a little bit to find a way to reach the now clear road (picture4). Turn right towards a house full of rats. First use an Odoris to bring all the rats from the area to the left, as shown in the picture below (picture5).
