science, Jim Reddoch caught the molecular biology 
bug and entered the graduate program at the 
University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Two

 ‘Yet’ 
É utilizado para se referir a algo que se expera 
acontecer. Significa: a qualquer momento. Seu 
uso ocorre em perguntas e negativas: 
Have you finished your homework yet? The 
speaker expects that the homework will be 
finished. 
 I haven’t finished it yet. I’ll do it after dinner. 
 ‘Yet’ costuma figurar no final das frases.

 ‘Still’ 
 É utilizado para se falar de algo que ainda não 
terminou, especialmente se for esperado que 
termine antecipadamente. 
 I’ve been waiting for over an hour and the bus still 
hasn’t come. 
You promised to give me that report yesterday and 
you still haven’t finished it. 
 
 ‘Still’ costuma estar presente em uma posição 
central na frase..

 ‘Already’ se refere a algo que aconteceu 
antecipadamente ou antes do esperado: 

