Activity 1 Guada: Hi, Pablo! Friends’ day is tomorrow. We need to
organise the food. What do we need? How many people are
invited?
Pablo: Hello, Guada! Well, around fifteen. I want to cook
lasagna. There are a lot of eggs and there is some cheese, but
there isn't any flour.
Guada: OK, let’s buy that then. What else? What about hot
dogs? How many sausages have you got?
Pablo: Mmm… There aren’t any sausages, but there is some
bread. We can prepare sandwiches.
Guada: What about dessert? Are there any fruits?
Pablo: Yes, there are a lot of grapes, some apples and a kilo of
bananas. We can buy some sugar and prepare a fruit salad!
Guada: Great, let’s do that! I can also buy some muffins and
two vanilla cakes.
Pablo: Thanks, Guada! Please, bring some water and some
champagne for the toast.

Client: Is there any good pasta? I love pasta.
Waiter: Yes. We cook delicious spaghetti here. And we always
add some extra cheese.
Client: That sounds really tasty! We’ll have the spaghetti,
please.
Waiter: Do you want some empanadas while you wait?
Client: No, thanks. We prefer some salami. Is there lemonade?
Waiter: Oh, I’m sorry. We haven’t got any lemons today. I can
only offer you a bottle of water or a glass of champagne.
Client: Mmm… We’ll have a bottle of water for now, thank you.
And for dessert… Is there banana cake?
Waiter: Yes, there is.
Client: Great! So we’ll have a piece of banana cake for
dessert. Thank you!

Yani: Hi, Ana. I was in the shopping centre four hours ago.
Later I was at the airport because my sister Stefi travelled to
Canada with her husband.
Ana: Oh, that's great! Was she happy about that?
Yani: Well, she was a bit sad when she was on the plane.
Ana: Was her flight slow or fast?
Yani: It was really fast. It lasted 9 hours.
Ana: And what about your parents?
Yani: They were very sad at the beginning, but they decided to
have fun and go to the cinema to see a good and interesting
film.
