1. Substantivos (Nouns)

Fonte: Cambly1

ubstantivo é a classe de pala-
vras que nomeia:
People (pessoas): mother (mãe),
professor [professor(a)], child [cri-
ança, filho(a)].
Note que os substantivos em
inglês são classificados da seguinte
forma:
 Contáveis;
 Incontáveis;
 Concretos; e
 Abstratos.

Desse modo, na língua inglesa
os substantivos se modificam para
formar o plural dos mesmos e para

apresentar posse. Assim, os gêneros
dos substantivos podem ser separa-
dos em quatro tipos: masculino, fe-
minino, neutro e comum.
Entretanto, a classe dos subs-
tantivos é grande. Dividi-los em sub-
categorias é complexo, uma vez que
só um substantivo pode caber a dife-
rentes categorias ao mesmo tempo.
A título de exemplo, o substantivo
mother (mãe) pode ser alocado nas
classes em concreto, em comum e,
ainda se considerado quanto à sua
forma, simples (não composto).
