We are here now! This is all you need to know about the</p><p>Linking Sounds. Oh okay, teacher, but what are Linking Sounds? Então, como</p><p>o próprio nome já diz, Linking Sounds são sons que criam conexões entre si,</p><p>que se atraem, se juntam e andam juntos.</p><p>Nas aulas sobre Elisão, vimos que alguns sons desaparecem para que</p><p>a conexão aconteça. Já aqui, não precisamos deletar nenhum som. Vamos</p><p>somente juntá-los. E, também como falamos na aula sobre Elisão, esse</p><p>fenômeno é natural, ocorre em todas as línguas e é usado por todo e qualquer</p><p>falante. Em português usamos Linking Sounds também, mas é tão natural</p><p>que você nem percebe! Mas deixa eu te mostrar como é verdade! Check these</p><p>examples:</p><p>Minhas amigas - minha/z/amigas</p><p>Mil anos - Mi/l/anos</p><p>Estados Unidos - Estado/z/Unidos</p><p>Dez amoras amarelas - De/z/amora/z/amarelas</p><p>Ainda não acredita? Será que isso acontece em outras línguas mesmo?</p><p>Bom, deixa eu te mostrar alguns exemplos em espanhol.</p><p>Vamos a cantar con tus amigos - Vamo/s/a - tu/s/amigos</p><p>Hay diez argentinos aquí. - die/s/argentino/s/aquí</p><p>¿Ellos son amigos? - so/n/amigos</p><p>Ufa, acho que agora eu consegui te mostrar que isso é algo comum e que</p><p>você deve aplicar em toda e qualquer língua que você estiver aprendendo.</p><p>Quanto mais Connected Speech a gente usa, mais natural e fluente a gente</p><p>soa.</p><p>Como podemos perceber, a maioria dos Linking Sounds acontece quando</p><p>há uma palavra que termina com o som de uma consoante e a próxima palavra</p><p>começa com um som de vogal, ou vice-versa. Check these two examples:</p><p>Mr. Lee sells honey.</p><p>We have to find out what happened.</p><p>Lee termina com o som /i:/ e sells começa com o som de /s/; já no segundo</p><p>exemplo, find termina com o som de /d/ e out começa com o som de /aʊ/.</p><p>Logo, podemos fazer o Linking Sound:</p><p>Lee sells</p><p>Find out</p><p>TAKE NOTICE</p><p>02 Módulo 07: Connected Speech</p><p>Aula 04: Linking Sounds: Introduction and same sounds</p><p>Mas também há outras possibilidades de juntarmos algumas palavras, e</p><p>esses links acontecem naturalmente na língua! Podemos ver a fala conectada</p><p>com, por exemplo, uma palavra que termina com o mesmo som que a próxima</p><p>palavra começa, como “book cover”, em que book termina com o som de /k/, o</p><p>mesmo som que inicia a palavra cover! Outro tipo de link que pode acontecer</p><p>é quando uma palavra termina com um som muito parecido com o som inicial</p><p>da próxima palavra! Já vamos falar mais sobre cada um desses tipos de linking,</p><p>mas já deu pra ter um gostinho de que os sons estão sempre se conectando</p><p>para dar fluidez à nossa fala, né?</p><p>Now, I think it’s time to explore the Linking Sounds in English.</p><p>Are you ready?</p><p>1. Maybe next time!</p><p>Black cat - Are you scared of black cats?</p><p>With them - Would you like to travel with them?</p><p>Travel late - My sister loves to travel late at night.</p><p>Fact table - I think it’s easier to see the process in the fact table.</p><p>Smart TV - Do you have a smart TV?</p><p>Got to - You’ve got to go before it’s dark.</p><p>Your room - Your room is really big!</p><p>Should do - I don’t think you should do that. How did the gig go?</p><p>Slim man - James is that slim man right there.</p><p>Bob Bernard - My best friend’s name is Bob Bernard.</p><p>Cool lad - You know, he is a cool lad who loves to sing and play the</p><p>drums.</p><p>Cop pretty - My mother had explained that to me, and then the cop</p><p>pretty much said the same thing.</p><p>Cool, right?
