KG P. Jansen 9 PJ The SCHOTTEL Pump-Jet SPJ is a controllable jet propulsion system working in accordance with the principle of a rotary pump. Power is transmitted from the driving motor via a cardan shaft to the SPJ. Within the SPJ power is transmitted via a bevel gear stage to the impeller. The impeller (b) sucks the water through a intake (a) below the bottom of the boat and then is fed into the enclosing diffuser housing (c), whose bottom plate is provided with three outlet nozzles from which the water is ejected (angle: 130). The diffuser housing -- and therefore also the water jet can be controlled 3600 without limitation and with thrust.
