Para 3ª pessoa do singular (he, she, it) acrescentar um “s” no verbo, para usar o “s” são utilizadas as regras do plural, porém, NÃO É PLURAL (ex: She always goes home early). Em frases interrogativas o verbo auxiliar é o DO ou DOES + SUJEITO + VERBO na forma base (sem “to”), ex: DO: you, DOES: he, she, it. Verbo to be “presente”: Affirmative I am a student. He is a teacher. She is a journalist. It is a book. We are mechanics. You are pilots. They are policemen. Negative I am not a singer. He is not a receptionist. She is not a nurse. It is not my book. We are not not musicians. You are not a shop assistant. They are not taxi drivers. Negative – contracted form: I'm not a singer. He isn't a receptionist. She isn't a nurse. It isn't my book. We aren't not musicians. You aren't a shop assistant. They aren't taxi drivers. Interrogative: Am I right? Is he here? Is she a nurse? Is it second-hand? Are we wrong? Are you Alan Parker? Are they American? Perceba: Para fazer perguntas o verbo to be fica na frente do pronome ou sujeito e para fazer a negativa, acrescentamos a partícula de negação no verbo. There is/There are significa “haver” (ou “ter”, no sentido de existir). Presente/afirmativa – no singular: there is ou there’s e no plural: there are. Presente/negativa – no singular: there is not/there isn´t/there´s not e no plural: there are not /there aren´t. The + adjetivo. OBS: (1ª pessoa) Singular: I / Plural: We (2ª pessoa) Singular: You / Plural: You (3ªpessoa) Singular: He, She, It / Plural: They.
