Lesson 05: Telling Time (Lesson 05: Vendo as horas) Lição 05: Você vai aprender a dizer as horas Divirta-‐‑‒se aprendendo com seu professor! Step 1 (Passo 1) Para dizer as horas, você pode usar: ...oʼ’clock, ...past..., ...to... Por exemplo, existem três formas de dizer 8:15: eight fifteen, a quarter past eight, fifteen past eight. Use “oʼ’clock” somente quando for uma hora completa! Por exemplo: 7:00 – seven oʼ’clock (mas 7:10 – ten past seven). Para dizer de outra forma que é a hora "completa", você pode dizer “sharp”. Step 2 (Passo 2) Pratique dizendo a hora 1) It is seven oʼ’clock. 2) It is half past eight. 3) It is twenty to two. 4) It is half past six. 5) It is a quarter to nine. 6) It is a quarter past three. Exercício: Pratique estes diálogos com seu professor Teacher : Do you have the time? You : Yes. It is 7:15. Teacher : Do you know what time it is? You : Yes. It is 9:00. Step 3 (Passo 3) Agora que você aprendeu a dizer as horas, você pode aprender outras palavras que podem lhe ajudar a falar do tempo. Para falar das partes do dia, por exemplo, você pode usar “in the morning”, “at noon”, “in the afternoon”, “in the evening”, “at night”. Quando você quer falar sobre dias, você pode usar“yesterday”, “today”, “tomorrow”, “the day after tomorrow”. OBS: Usamos “in the morning”,“at noon”, “in the afternoon”, “in the evening”, “at night” para ações que acontecem todos os dias, que são habitos. Quando queremos especificar que a ação aconteceu hoje, usamos: “this morning”, “(today) at noon”, “this afternoon”, “this evening”, “tonight”. Em outras situações, usamos somente“morning”. 1) I always have breakfast in the morning. (Eu sempre tomo um café da manhã completo de manhã.) 2) He comes home from work in the evening. (Ele volta do trabalho no final da tarde.) 3) We sleep at night. (Nós dormimos de noite.) 4) I went to the bank yesterday at noon. (Eu fui ao banco ontem ao meio-‐‑‒dia.) 5) I will go to school tomorrow morning. (Eu vou para a escola amanhã de manhã.) 6) I will sleep at a hotel tonight. (Eu vou dormir em um hotel hoje de noite.) 7) She will visit us the day after tomorrow. (Ela vai nos visitar depois de amanhã.)
