John Deere Service Advisor 5.2 CF_201805 Install 
Prerequisites: 
1. Adobe Reader must be installed and set as the defualt PDF viewer. 
2. Java 8.181 x64 must be installed. 
3. WINRAR or a extraction program of your choise must be installed. 
4. Disable User Account Control. 
5. Set Interenet Explorer as the defualt browser. 
6. You will need at least 180GB of free storage for the installation of this program 
Installation Process: 
1. Run and install Service ADVISOR_20190326. Run through the wizard installation and if needed 
change the defualt location for the installation of the program, however this doucument is 
writen with the defualt C drive in mind. 
 
2. Restart the PC after installation completes. 
3. Install the SA5Update. 
 
4. Restart the PC after installation completes. 
5. Once Windows has rebooted open Services. Then stop Service ADVISOR Node and Servce 
ADVISOR Solr Search. 
 
6. Open File Explorer and go to the following folder: C:\ProgramData\Service ADVISOR 
Delete the db and solr folders 
 
7. Extract the solr.rar file provided in the download and move the solr folder to 
C:\ProgramData\Service Advisor. Make sure that the folder structure matches the below 
picture. 
 
8. Extract the db.rar file provided in the download and move the db folder to 
C:\ProgramData\Service Advisor. Make sure that the folder structure matches the below 
picture. 
 
9. Move the jblm.lic file provided in the download to C:\Programdata\Service Advisor\JDLM 
 
10. Extract the Data.rar file provided in the download and move the Data and Data Sets folder to 
C:\ProgramData\Service Advisor. Make sure that the folder structure matches the below 
picture. 
 
 
Note: By default this is where JDSA is configured to look for these two folders. These folders can 
be relocated to a different folder on the same drive or too another storage location. Once the 
install is completed JDSA can be reconfigured to look for these folders and files in another 
location. Howerver do not modify the subfolder structure of the Data or Data Sets Folder or this 
will break JDSA. 
11. Extract the js.rar file provided in the download. Replace the files config.js and server.jst files in 
C:\Program Files (x86)\Service ADVISOR\Node 
WebServer\lib\node_modules\apps\FrontEndServer\app with the ones provided in the js.rar
 
12. Replace the file connector.js in C:\Program Files (x86)\Service ADVISOR\Node 
WebServer\lib\node_modules\apps\Connector\app\connector with the one provided in the 
js.rar 
 
 
13. Replace the file environment.js in C:\Program Files (x86)\Service ADVISOR\Node 
WebServer\lib\node_modules\Environment with the one provided in the js.rar 
 
 
 
 
14. Replace the file server.js in C:\Program Files (x86)\Service ADVISOR\Node 
WebServer\lib\node_modules\apps\JDLicenseManagement\app with the one provided in the 
subfodler server within the js.rar
 
15. Restart the PC, or start the Service ADVISOR Node and Servce ADVISOR Solr Search. 
 
16. Double click the Service ADVISOR™ 5.2 icon on the desktop and it should load the following 
page. 
 
17. Select Offiline and login with the provided User Name x187550. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
18. Agree to the User Agreement License and that will then load this page. 
 
19. To reconfigure JDSA Data and Data Sets folder as noted on step 10 Click the Offline link on this 
page, and then select Data on the next page. From there you can redirect JDSA to the Data and 
Data Sets folder location.
