MODAL VERB: SHOULD (GABARITO) AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES Modal Verbs são verbos que, no Inglês, acompanham o verbo para passar uma ideia de que algo é necessário ou possível. SHOULD é considerado um modal verb, ele expressa a ideia de que algo deve ou deveria ser feito (ou deve/deveria acontecer). Ou seja, usamos o SHOULD para expressar: 1) Conselho / Sugestão 2) Expectativa / Probabilidade 3) Dever Por exemplo: You should quit smoking. (Você deveria parar de fumar) I should be home by 7pm. (Eu devo estar em casa às 7 da noite) P.s: Note que o modal should é escrito antes do verbo. Agora é sua vez! Coloque as palavras na ordem correta para formar frases. GO TO THE HE DENTIST SHOULD He should go to the dentist. GET THEY SHOULD SOME REST They should get some rest. I TAKE SHOULD PAINKILLER A I should take a painkiller. NEGATIVE SENTENCES Usamos a forma negativa pra falar de coisas que não deveriam acontecer ou não deveriam ser feitas. Para formarmos frases negativas, basta colocarmos o NOT depois do SHOULD. Por exemplo: They should buy a new car. (Eles deveriam comprar um carro novo) They should not buy a new car. (Eles não deveriam comprar um carro novo) She should be here. (Ela deveria estar aqui) She should not be here. (Ela não deveria estar aqui) Podemos usar também a forma contraída: SHOULDN’T. They shouldn’t buy a new car. (Eles não deveriam comprar um carro novo) He shouldn’t stay up late. (Ela não deveria ficar acordada até tarde) AGORA É SUA VEZ!!! Reescreva as frases abaixo na sua forma negativa.
