One person responsible for th is change is the
popular televis ion chef Jamie Oliver. In his TV
series, Jamie visits a lot of schools in different
parts of Britain to see the type of food that
ch ildren eat. He sees that in general they
don't eat well, and he decides to prepare
mea ls for the chi ldren with fresh ingredients .
The results are very positive. After a lunch with
fresh food the ch ildren have a lot of energy
and they do more work in class.
Thanks to Jamie's TV p rogramme, school
meals are now very healthy. Schools can't
serve junk food or food with a lot of salt or fat
in it. Crisps, chocolate and fizzy d ri nks are not
on the menu, and all mea ls have fresh fruit or
vegetables.
