ATIVIDADE 1: · Which of the four skills - listening, speaking, reading or writing - do you find to be the hardest? In general, many people feel that speaking in a new language is harder than reading, writing or listening, for 2 reasons: 1- unlike reading or writing, speaking happens in real time, on the fly; usually the person you are talking to is waiting for you to speak right then. 2- when you speak, you cannot edit and revise what you wish to say, as you can if you are writing. SPOKEN LANGUAGE: Auditory (sonora) Temporary; immediate reception Prosody (rhythm, stress, intonation) Immediate feedback Planning and editing limited by channel WRITTEN LANGUAGE: Visual Permanent; delayed reception Punctuation Delayed or no feedback Unlimited planning, editing, revision.
