Imagine a world where what you gave away was more valuable than what you held back, where joy was not dirty word, where play was not forbidden after your eleventh birthday. Imagine a world in which the business of business was to imagine worlds people might actually want to live in someday. Imagine a world created by the people, for the people not perishing from earth forever. Yeah. Imagine that.” 1.1. A Banca. Prova MPU – 2013 - Analista – Desenvolvimento de Sistemas Texto: What is IT Governance? IT (Information Technology) Governance focuses specifically on information technology systems, their performance and risk management. The primary goals of IT Governance are to assure that the investments in IT generate business value, and to mitigate the risks that are associated with IT. This can be done by implementing an organizational structure with well-defined roles for the responsibility of information, business processes, applications and infrastructure. IT governance should be viewed as how IT creates value that fits into the overall Corporate Governance strategy of the organization, and never be seen as a discipline on its own. In taking this approach, all stakeholders would be required to participate in the decision making process. This creates a shared acceptance of responsibility for critical systems and ensures that IT related decisions are made and driven by the business and not vice versa. Why it governance is necessary IT governance is needed to ensure that the investments in IT generate value, and mitigate IT-associated risks, avoiding failure. IT is central to organizational success — effective and efficient delivery of services and goods — especially when the IT is designed to bring about change in an organization. This change process, commonly referred to as “business transformation,” is now the prime enabler of new business models both in the private and public sectors. Business transformation offers many rewards, but it also has the potential for many risks, which may disrupt operations and have unintended consequences. The dilemma becomes how to balance risk and rewards when using IT to enable organizational change. IT Governance Best Practices Despite efforts of the software industry to identify and adopt best practices in the development of IT projects, there is still a high rate of failure and missed objectives. Most IT projects do not meet the organization’s objectives. ( ) certo ( ) errado Comentário do Professor: Se repararmos no último parágrafo do texto “...there is still a high rate of failure and missed objectives.” Prova SERPRO – 2008 - Analista – Desenvolvimento de Sistemas One frequently overlooked area in planning is technical reviews and inspections. A technical review requires substantial preparation on the part of the presenters. Documents must be published and distributed and presentation material organized and made into slides or overheads. Practice sessions are conducted by presenters with an audience of critics to prepare for the review. The reviewers should read the material, attend the presentations, and write reports. On large projects with many reviews and walk-throughs involving many participants, a substantial number of labor hours can be consumed analyzing documents, attending meetings, and writing reports. For example, a system design review for one module or unit can require 150 labor hours. When overlooked, this labor can result in a very large error in resource and schedule estimation. Many projects include risk assessment and risk management as a key part of the planning process and expect the plan to identify specific risk areas. The plan is expected to quantify both probability of failure and consequences of failure and to describe what will be done to contain development risk. A. Behforooz and F. Hudson. Software engineering fundamentals. Ed. Oxford (adapted). Based on the text above, judge the following items. Technical reviews and inspections are two areas which are often looked over. 7. Lista das Questões para fixação de conteúdo. 1 - Prova: CESPE - 2013 - FUNASA - Todos os Cargos - Conhecimentos Básicos - Cargos 1 e 2 1 The difficulty for health policy makers the world overis this: it is simply not possible to promote healthier lifestyles through presidential decree or through being overprotective 4 towards people and the way they choose to live. Recent history has proved that one-size-fits-all solutions are no good when public health challenges vary from one area of the country to 7 the next. But we cannot sit back while, in spite of all this, so many people are suffering such severe lifestyle-driven ill health and such acute health inequalities. Internet: <www.gov.uk> (adapted). This requires that continuing and emerging threats to the health of the public 4 be successfully countered. These threats include immediate crises, such as the AIDS epidemic; enduring problems, such as injuries and chronic illnesses; and growing challenges, such as 7 the aging of the populations and the toxic by-products of a modern economy, transmitted through air, water, soil, or food. These and many other problems raise in common the need to 10 protect the nation’s health through effective, organized, and sustained efforts led by the public sector. Given the increasing threat of terrorist attacks in Europe and in the U.S., there must be no limits over the surveillance powers governments have. · ( ) Certo ( ) Errado 7 - Prova: CESPE - 2013 - STF - Técnico Judiciário - Tecnologia da Informação Types of operating systems Real-time A real-time operating system is a multitasking operating system that aims at executing real-time applications. Real-time operating systems often use specialized scheduling algorithms so that they can achieve a deterministic nature of behavior. The main objective of real-time operating systems is their quick and predictable response to events. They have an event-driven or time-sharing design and often aspects of both. An event-driven system switches between tasks based on their priorities or external events while time-sharing operating systems switch tasks based on clock interrupts. Multi-user A multi-user operating system allows multiple users to access a computer system at the same time. Time-sharing systems and Internet servers can be classified as multi-user systemsas they enable multiple-user access to a computer through the sharing of time. Single-user operating systems have only one user but may allow multiple programs to run at the same time. Multi-tasking vs. single-tasking A multi-tasking operating system allows more than one program to be running at the same time, from the point of view of human time scales. A single-tasking system has only one running program. Multi-tasking can be of two types: pre-emptive and co-operative. In pre-emptive multitasking, the operating system slices the CPU time and dedicates one slot to each of the programs. Unix-like operating systems such as Solaris and Linux support pre-emptive multitasking, as does AmigaOS. Cooperative multitasking is achieved by relying on each process to give time to the other processes in a defined manner. 16-bit versions of Microsoft Windows used cooperative multi-tasking. 32-bit versions of both Windows NT and Win9x, used pre-emptive multi-tasking. Mac OS prior to OS X used to support cooperative multitasking. Distributed A distributed operating system manages a group of independent computers and makes them appear to be a single computer. The development of networked computers that could be linked and communicate with each other gave rise to distributed computing. Distributed computations are carried out on more than one machine. When computers in a group work in cooperation, they make a distributed system. Embedded Embedded operating systems are designed to be used in embedded computer systems. They are designed to operate on small machines like PDAs with less autonomy. They are able to operate with a limited number of resources. They are very compact and extremely efficient by design. Windows CE and Minix 3 are some examples of embedded operating systems. Internet: http://en.wikipedia.org (adapted) Based on the text above, judge the following items from 111 through 116. In an event-driven system, the switching between tasks is triggered by clock interrupts, and the duration of each time slice is always the same. · ( ) Certo ( ) Errado 8 - Prova: CESPE - 2013 - STF - Técnico Judiciário - Tecnologia da Informação Based on the text above, judge the following items from 111 through 116. Some people of fifty-three, like the esteemed author, look a mere thirty-five, with sparkling brown eyes, a handsome gait and the virility of a steam train. Others, like the author’s friend Colin, look like little middle-aged men at twenty-one with middle-aged outlooks of set ways and planned futures. In women the former condition is common but women rarely suffer from the latter, being fired with the insatiable drive of ambition for either an independent and distinguished career in a still male-dominated world, or a home and seven children by the time they are thirty followed by an independent and distinguished career as a Cheltenham councillor or a public relations agent for Jonathan Cape, in later life. No such luck for Charles Charlesworth, who was born on the 14th of March, 1829, in Stafford. At the age of four Charles had a beard and was sexually active. The majority live in the south-central area, which includes industrial cities 4 such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte. 80% of the population now lives in urban areas. Rapid growth in the urban population has aided economic development but also created serious7 problems for major cities. Brazil’s “miracle years” were in the late 1960s and early 1970s when double digit-annual growth rates were recorded and the structure 10 of the economy underwent rapid change. In the 1980s, however, Brazil’s economic performance was poor in comparison with its potential. Annual Gross Domestic Product 13 (GDP) growth only averaged 1.5 percent over the period from 1980 to 1993. This reflected the economy’s inability to respond to international events in the late 1970s and the 1980s: the second oil 16 shock; increase in international real interest rates; the Latin American external debt crisis and the ensuing cutoff of foreign credit and foreign direct investment. This lack of responsiveness reflected the largely 19 inward-looking policy orientation that had been in place since the 1960s. Economic flexibility was further impaired by provisions of the 22 1988 Constitution, which introduced significant rigidities in budgeting and public expenditure. An outcome of these pressures was a steady rise in the rate of inflation, which reached monthly rates of 50% by the 25 middle of 1994. Curiosidades. Qual a origem da frase "Keep calm and carry on"? A imagem virou febre. Primeiro, estampou cadernos, canecas e diversos acessórios. Então, caiu na rede, ganhou paródias bem inusitadas. Qual a origem desse cartaz? Marcel Verrumo - in super.abril.com.br www.tiparaconcursos.net
