According to EN 50126:1999, the requirements for implementing the system are as follows: a) Specify the life cycle phases required to implement the system, providing a corresponding justification for the specified life cycle phases, and demonstrating that the tasks undertaken within these life cycle phases comply with the principles of the requirements of this standard; b) Specify the mandatory activities and requirements of each required life cycle phase, using Figure 9 and the relevant information related to the phase of Chapter 6, as a checklist, including: - the scope of each requirement in relation to the system in question; - the methods, tools, and techniques required for each requirement, as well as the scope and depth of their application; - the verification and validation activities required for each requirement and the scope of their application; - all supporting documentation. c) Justify any deviations from the activities and requirements of the standard; d) Justify the suitability of the tasks chosen for the application in question. Additionally, within all applications of this standard, the following requirements are mandatory: a) The performance responsibilities of all RAMS tasks within each phase of the life cycle, including interfaces between associated tasks, must be defined and agreed upon for the system in question; b) All personnel with responsibilities within the RAMS management process must be competent to perform such obligations; c) The establishment and implementation of the RAM Program and Safety Plan with essential components of reliable system construction; d) The requirements of this standard must be implemented within business processes, supported by a Quality Management System (QMS) that meets the requirements of EN ISO 9001, EN ISO 9002, or EN ISO 9003 appropriate to the system in question; e) An adequate and effective configuration management system must be established and implemented, which must address RAMS tasks in all phases of the life cycle. The scope of configuration management will depend on the system in question, but typically should include all system documentation and all other system deliverables. Chapter 6 of this standard extends to the means intended to ensure that RAMS requirements are achieved by minimizing any defects, and in controlling the factors mentioned in Chapter 4, defining a management process based on the system life cycle. The methods, tools, and techniques indicated for designing reliable systems appear in other standards (see Annex B). It is important to note that the choice of methods, tools, and techniques, as well as their application depth, may vary depending on the specific system requirements.
