The word TRAUMA is often used by the lay public, both as a situation of an accident too intense, causing serious and profound injuries, and in reference to an important episode of strong impact, loaded with dense emotions and that, precisely because of this nature, leaves marks on the subject who experiences it.
In the definition of the word trauma, we find other associations, such as: "Contusion" resulting from an extremely violent injury, usually caused by an external agent;
Freud, in the Compendium of Psychoanalysis, published posthumously in 1940, enriches his work with examples associated with Biology, comparing the effect of trauma to a "needle prick" in the human embryo, this embryo still being in a situation of little defense and development.
Thus, TRAUMA is, above all, an essentially economic concept: an energetic quantum presents itself too much for an EGO still in the process of development or fragile.
