What are the three layers that make up the hair?

I - The central layer or medulla, which can be hollow or not, depending on the individual's genetic structure.
II - The cortex, which is the main body of the hair and is composed of long fiber keratin cells (interconnected by polypeptide chains), forming the configuration of a three-dimensional helix.
III - The cuticle, which is formed by small layers of keratin scales that overlap on the cortex, in a very similar way to the superposition of tiles on a roof. These layers fit and adjust in a preferential direction, which goes from the root to the tip of the hair, following its natural growth.

As três camadas que compõem o cabelo são: I - A camada central ou medula, que pode ser oca ou não, dependendo da estrutura genética do indivíduo. II - O córtex, que é o corpo principal do cabelo e é composto por células de queratina de fibra longa (interconectadas por cadeias polipeptídicas), formando a configuração de uma hélice tridimensional. III - A cutícula, que é formada por pequenas camadas de escamas de queratina que se sobrepõem no córtex, de maneira muito semelhante à sobreposição de telhas em um telhado. Essas camadas se encaixam e se ajustam em uma direção preferencial, que vai da raiz até a ponta do cabelo, seguindo seu crescimento natural.
