Os verbos “am” e “is” viram “was”, enquanto o verbo “are” no passado vira “were” (isso vale para as negações também).
Afirmação Presente: I am He/She/It is You/We/They are
Afirmação Passado: I was He/She/It was You/We/They were
Negação Presente: I am not He/She/It is not (=isn’t) You/We/They are not (=aren’t)
Afirmação Passado: I was not (=wasn’t) He/She/It was not (=wasn’t) You/We/They were not (=weren’t)
Interrogativa Presente: Am I…? Is he/she/it…? Are you/we/they…?
Interrogativa Passado: Was I…? Was he/she/it…? Were you/we/they…?
