It’s easy to get angry when you have a bad experience and be careless about what you say. However, this is not the best way to find a
solution to get something fixed. Being sarcastic won’t help you to resolve your problem. People get defensive and become closed to
suggestions when you are rude to them. You may express your annoyance but make sure that you still do it in a polite way. To do this, you
may use indirect language to soften the tone. In this way, you are expressing what you want without being too aggressive or threatening. By
using modal verbs like could, should, would, may and might in your requests for help will make it sound more diplomatic and polite.

Now that remote working is being normalized by the pandemic, managers are being forced to learn different skills.
After all, managing remote teams is much different than doing so in the office. It requires greater attention to employee dynamics and
resistance to micro-managing. Managers need to know their workers are productive while remote, but at the same time workers need to
know they remain a vital part of the team’s productivity. Isolation can kick in for both managers and workers, so it’s important to be mindful
of how and when to communicate, even outside discussions of job duties.
One way to do this is the check-in. This is an established call — by phone or video c h a t – that is one-on-one with employees to talk about
more than just job deadlines and other tasks.

you to reach other meeting attendees. Make sure your story is strategic, fit your story to the venue and meeting subject — don't bring a
long, wordy story to a to-the-point meeting.

An interview with Lars Josefsson
By NS Energy Staff Writer  30 Apr 2010
If you are interested in sustainable energy, you will enjoy the interview with Mr Josefsson. He is an honorary professor of physics at the
Brandenburg University of Technology in Germany.
Interviewer:  We don’t seem to be very good in it – we have good science and technology bases, the will and the means, but what we don’t
seem to have is the political will; when you put all the elements together, for instance at an international forum such as Copenhagen, not
enough seems to happens to justify faith in all those other elements. Do you think there is some critical step that needs to be achieved
before the world will work together and make other concerns subsidiary?
Josefsson: The will and the political will are not great enough yet, people and government both, and in business too; on the other hand I
could argue that change is already happening. Look around you: we are investing billions in Britain in new offshore wind parks, very much
more effective than they were ten years ago and if you look at biomass things are happening as we are talking; if you look at where car
makers are going, we have just had the Geneva car show where all the manufacturers were displaying electric cars.
