sections in the Operating Instructions which are important for start-up. Thus, the Brief Start-up Instructions are
only valid in conjunction with the Operating Instructions. It is especially important to observe the warning and
information regarding potential hazards in the Operating Instructions.

� Electrical equipment has parts and components which are at hazardous voltage levels.

0. Connecting-up the equipment and the motor:
Connect-up Master Drives and the motor according to the instructions in the Operating Instructions
(refer to the Operating Instructions: Sections 4 and 6), taking into account the EMC protective
measures (refer to the Operating Instructions: Section 5)
[or Compendium AB: Sections 2 and 4]
1. Necessary settings
The factory setting must be established, the motor data must be entered and the highlighted
values. For all of the other entries, the factory settings can be used.
2. Entering parameters via the PMU
The parameterization unit (PMU) is used to parameterize, control and visualize the AC drives
(converter or inverter) directly at the equipment. It is included with the basic drive. It has a four-digit,
seven-segment display and several keys.

Changeover button � Toggles between parameter number, parameter index and
parameter value in the specified sequence (the command
becomes effective when the button is released)
� When the fault display is active: The fault is acknowledged
Raise button Increases the displayed value:
� Briefly pressed: Increased by a single step
� Pressed for a longer time: Value is increased
Lower button Decreases the displayed value:
� Briefly pressed: Decreased by a single step
� Pressed for a longer time: Value is decreased

3. Factory setting:
(WE = Value loaded for the factory setting)

The values designated with WE, represent the factory setting.
Please establish the factory setting.
Warning: It is not permissible that the drive converter is operational!

6. ON / OFF and setpoint input:
also refer to the Operating Instructions: Page 7-9 [or Compendium AB: Function chart 80 (analog on / OFF) and 180 (control word 1)]

7. Protecting the mechanical system:
Up ramp (do not set this too short so that the stressing on the mechanical system is reduced)

The drive can be operated using the external terminals using these settings:
Enable inverter = Terminal X101 - 6
ON / OFF = Terminal X101 - 8
Faster / slower = Terminal X101 - 9 / 10 analog input 1
!!! If the potentiometer is connected between +10V and -10v, the motor can be operated in the clockwise and counter-clockwise directions of
rotation !!!
Acknowledge fault = Terminal X101 - 7
