Texto 98. I think I already know 
where….
“I THINK I ALREADY KNOW WHERE 
DADDY WENT.”
• When Sally turned eight, her daddy was not able 
to come to her party. Her mother said he would 
come, but he did not show up. She dearly loved 
her father, so she forgave him for missing her 
birthday again. Since she was just six, her father 
was always not around. Sally would ask her 
mother where did daddy go, but her mother 
would always change the topic. Poor Sally was 
always left wondering where her father went. One 
day, as she strolled around the park on a school 
trip, her question was answered. Just around the 
corner, she saw her father. He was smiling with a 
woman next to him with a baby in her arms. Sally 
eventually understood. She went home feeling sad 
and sat down on the couch next to her mother. 
Sally then said, “I think I already know where 
daddy went.”
“ACHO QUE JÁ SEI ONDE O PAPAI FOI.”
• Quando Sally completou oito anos, seu pai não 
pôde vir a sua festa. Sua mãe disse que viria, mas 
ele não apareceu. Ela amava muito seu pai, então 
ela o perdoou por ter perdido seu aniversário 
novamente. Desde que ela tinha apenas seis anos, 
seu pai não estava sempre por perto. Sally 
perguntaria a sua mãe para onde o pai ia, mas sua 
mãe sempre mudava de assunto. A pobre Sally 
sempre ficava imaginando aonde seu pai ia. Um 
dia, enquanto passeava pelo parque em uma 
viagem de escola, sua pergunta foi respondida. Ao 
virar a esquina, viu seu pai. Ele estava sorrindo 
com uma mulher ao lado dele com um bebê em 
seus braços. Sally finalmente entendeu. Ela foi para 
casa sentindo triste e sentou-se no sofá ao lado de 
sua mãe. Sally disse, “Eu acho que já sei onde 
papai foi.”
