I made a playlist on my YouTube channel with videos of how the template works
titled HOW TO MAKE A PROJECT IN SEKCTHUP and it has English subtitles. Take
the opportunity to marathon and be able to enjoy all the details of the template.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUjqJaqxkbo&list=PL1Grcc55B02661TzbfyVQEhHXey1fhUCm&

To install the template is very simple, just open the file and go to "file" then "save as template" in the
case of templates of layout, and "save as scrapbooks" in the case of scrapbooks, name your
"scrapbook" select one folder and press ok. In the side menu, click on “scrapbooks” and they stay
here.

 SKETCHUP TEMPLATES
Open the sketchup template and go to "file" and "save as model"

 HOW TO MODEL?
Traditional Method x Template With Blocks
You can model by the traditional method or use the blocks already configured. If you choose the
traditional method, you will have to use the mask (in scaled drawing mode) to represent the fill of
beams, slabs and floor when the project is inserted in the layout. Drawing with the line or rectangle
tool and setting the thickness and hatch in shape style, or copying one of the hatches that must be
installed in the sracpbook folder.

 DRAWING TO SCALE

In the menu on the right, click on “drawing to scale”, then on “make drawing to scale” select the
scale your plan is in and start drawing with the drawing tools.

COPY PROPERTIES OF ALREADY CONFIGURED ELEMENTS

Click on the “style” icon, select the element you want to copy the configuration and as soon as you
start drawing, it will be in the style you chose.

HOW TO CREATE A NEW SECTION CUT
There are 4 defined cut options. If you don't want one of them, just delete it. But how do you create
a new cut? See the step by step.
1. Go to the floor plan, select one of the cuts that is already in the direction you want it, select
the move tool (M), and with ctrl held, make a new copy.
2. Right-click on the symbol of the cut created, go to “Entity Info” and change the name and
symbol of the new cut.
 LAYOUT FILES
HOW TO INSTALL
3. Double-click the created cut symbol, and in the “views” menu choose one by one to find the
created cut If you didn't want to use a plugin and wanted to do it through sketchup, in
"styles" change the drawing style to "shaded" so the textures will appear. Now select one of
the available floor hatches and apply it to the surface.
4. Change the style of the cut by going to styles in the tools tab on the right side. Choice
“In Model” and select the “Techinical Section Cut” style.
5. Now go to View - Animation - Add Scene.

 COMPATIBILITY BETWEEN PROJECTS
How to make project compatibility when engineers don't usually use sketchup? Simple, by sketchup,
you can export from sketchup facades section and floor plan to autocad. The only issue is that the
lines come out “broken” at every intersection. So just put them in a group and the other
professionals can use your drawing as a base to draw over.

LINE HIERARCHY
To work the line hierarchy, in sketchup you need to work with the layer system. Assigning different
“layers” or “tags” (depends on the version) to different elements. When imported into the layout,
you will be able to edit the color, thickness, and linetype of each layer. In the LayOut click on
“sketchup model” then click on labels. Click default next to the layer you want to change.

 USING SCRAPBOOKS
After installing the files, go to the srapbooks tab on the right, choose the sracpbook you want, select
the element and drag it to your project

 GRAPHIC REPRESENTATION
When it is not possible to represent automatically. You will have to do it manually in the layout by the
scaled drawing option.

 REPRESENTATION FRAME / STAIRCASE
You must use dynamic miter blocks. See in Dynamic Blocks how to use it correctly.

 BLOCKS IN PROJECTION
All elements above the cutting plane appear dashed. To represent this, insert the relevant block of
the squad or ladder, and under labels, select the option “DASHED”

 FLOOR REPRESENTATION
In the technical floor plan textures do not appear, so it represents the floors of areas that need to use
the Floor Generation plugin. It creates 3d floors on uneven/regular surfaces.
2ND FLOOR SHAPE
If you didn't want to use a plugin and wanted to do it through sketchup, in "styles" change the
drawing style to "shaded" so the textures will appear. Now select one of the available floor hatches
and apply it to the surface.

 CUTTING LINE REPRESENTATION
How do I put the cut line of the sracpbook and take the default representation of Sketchup?

The sketchup default cut line is for you to know the correct position of where the cut is passing. To change,
follow the steps:
1° Import your scene to the layout normally, and use the “notepad” or “abnt layout” sracpbook to position the
section symbol you want.
2° After positioning, still in the layout, go to “Sketchup Model” and in “Tags” disable the
visualization of the “section cut line” layer by clicking on the little eye.

HOW TO PLAN ELECTRICAL / HYDRAULIC POINTS
You can use the blocks available in the “ELECTRICAL” sracpbook and place them on your floor plan. In
order to be able to dimension, you will have to make a guide line in the “DRAWING TO SCALE” mode.
This way you will be able to position in the correct place and also to quote. The same with the
hydraulic points plant.

HOW TO MAKE LIGHTING PLAN
The lighting plant is made automatically by the template. But it needs to be changed in the layout so
that it is in the correct orientation. Select the scene, click with the right mouse button, go to turn -
from left to right. You can add information with the blocks from the “ELECTRICAL” sracpbook or by
drawing to scale.

 CHANGE WALL COLOR
In Sketchup click on Styles on the right side menu, click on Edit and then click on the last icon. Click on
“Section fill” and put the color you want.

DYNAMIC BLOCKS
• • To insert dynamic blocks correctly, go to File – Import.
• • To hide in 3d/2d select the block and specify the label you want. If you set it to “HIDE ON
3D” the object will only be visible in 2d drawings.
• • INTERACTING WITH DYNAMIC BLOCKS:
• • Select the block, right-click on the block, go to “dynamic components” and choose
“component options” to interact with them.
• • Some blocks interact with the scale command, select the block and press S and interact
with the points.

HIDE ON 3D/2D – HIDING ELEMENTS
Some elements you don't want to appear in 3d or 2d. So you need to configure this via the tags. Just
select the block by inserting it, and specify a tag for it.

 CUTTING LINE DISAPPEAR
Sometimes there is a bug where the cut line disappears, but it's easy to fix. 1. Click on the scene again
to return it to its original state. 2. Deactivate/Reactivate the section planes. 3. Click on another floor
plan scene and then return to the one you were on. 4. Make sure you have turned off the “LINHA DE
CORTE” label display.
