Como fundamentação

teórica, apoiamo-nos no quadro teórico-metodológico do Interacionismo Sociodiscursivo

1.13 FORMATO DO MATERIAL: Sequência Didática.

1.14 PÚBLICO-ALVO DA INTERVENÇÃO: Alunos do 1º ano do Ensino Médio.

Apresentação

A apresentação do discurso neste gênero respeita a vida, a ordem

CLASS DISCUSSION

1. He is known by his

stage name Bono. He was raised in the

Northside suburb of Finglas with his brother.

Their mother was a member of the Church

of Ireland and their father was a Roman Catholic.

He attended Church of Ireland services with his

mother and brother.

Bono’s mother died on September 10th

1974, after suffering a cerebral aneurysm at her father’s funeral. He was

made frontman for the Irish rock band though his singing at the time was

less compelling than his stage presence. Many U2 songs focus on the loss

of his mother as “ I will follow”, “Mofo”, “Out the Control”, “Lemon” and

“Tomorrow”.

He studied at Mount Temple Comprehensive School where he met

his future wife Alison Hewson. The couple have four children: daughters

Jordan)and Memphis Eve and sons Elijah Bob Patricius Guggi and John

Abraham.

Success with U2

He is a sing-song writer musician, venture capitalist businessman

and philanthropist. He is the lead vocalist of rock band U2. Bono is almost

never seen in public without sunglasses, as he suffers from glaucoma. U2

began touring released its first album, Boy, in 1980. Bono writes lyrics,

frequently, using religious, social and political themes. In 1987, they

released the Grammy-winning The Joshua Tree, their sixth album. In May

2010, Bono suffered a spinal injury while preparing for a U2 tour, and was

taken to a German clinic in Munich for emergency neurosurgery.

P

Music for Activism

Throughout U2's career, Bono has written most of the band's lyrics,

often focusing on untraditional themes like politics and religion. In fact,

social activism has always been close to the singer's heart, and he has

used his music to raise consciousness with performances at Band Aid, Live

8 and Net Aid, among others. He is also widely known for his activism

concerning Africa.

Bono's work as an activist, which is due largely to his Christian

beliefs, began in earnest when, inspired by Live Aid, he travelled to

Ethiopia to work in a feeding camp with his wife Alison and the charity

World Vision, an Evangelical Christian humanitarian aid, development, and

advocacy organization.

Starting the Organization One

Outside of music, Bono has used his celebrity to generate awareness

about many global problems. Over the years, he has met with world

leaders and many U.S. politicians to discuss such issues as debt relief for

developing countries, world poverty and AIDS. Started in 2004, One is a

nonpartisan campaign to "Make Poverty History" and is supported by more

than 100 nonprofit organizations as well as millions of individuals.

In 2005, Bono and his wife Ali Hewson established EDUN, a socially

responsible clothing line. While it is a for-profit enterprise, its mission is to

foster "sustainable employment in developing areas of the world,

particularly Africa," according to its website. King suffered from depression throughout much of his life. In his adolescent

years, he initially felt resentment against whites due to the "racial humiliation"

that he, his family, and his neighbors often had to endure in the segregated

South. At the age of 15, King passed the exam and entered Morehouse College,

a respected historically black college.

King married Coretta Scott, on June 18, 1953, on the lawn of her parents'

house in her hometown of Heiberger, Alabama. They became the parents of four

children: Yolanda King, Martin Luther King III , Dexter Scott King, and Bernice

King. During their marriage, King limited Coretta's role in the Civil Rights

Movement, expecting her to be a housewife and mother.

King, both a Baptist minister and civil-rights activist, had a seismic impact

on race relations in the United States, beginning in the mid-1950s. He was a

leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his

role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience based

on his Christian beliefs. Among many efforts, King headed the SCLC (Southern

Christian Leader Conference). Through his activism, he played a pivotal role in

ending the legal segregation of African-American citizens in the South and other

areas of the nation, as well as the creation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the

Voting Rights Act of 1965. King received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, among

several other honors. King was assassinated in April 1968, and continues to be

remembered as one of the most lauded African-American leaders in history,

often referenced by his 1963 speech, "I Have a Dream."

Fonte: SITE BIO. Her

hometown began to change and the Taliban tried to take control. She lived with

her two younger brothers, Khushal and Atal, her parents, Ziauddin and Tor

Pekai.

Malala attended a school that her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, had founded.

After the Taliban began attacking girls' schools in Swat, Malala gave a speech in

Peshawar, Pakistan, in September 2008. The title of her talk was, "How dare the

Taliban take away my basic right to education?"

In early 2009, Yousafzai began blogging for the BBC about living under the

Taliban's threats to deny her an education. In order to hide her identity, she

used the name Gul Makai. However, she was revealed to be the BBC blogger in

December of that year. Her activism resulted in a nomination for the

International Children's Peace Prize in 2011. That same year, she was awarded

Pakistan's National Youth Peace Prize.

In the afternoon of 9 October 2012, Malala boarded her school bus when a

gunman asked for her by name, then pointed a pistol at her and fired three

shots. One bullet hit the left side of Yousafzai's forehead, travelled under her skin

through the length of her face, and went into her shoulder. The shooting left

Malala in critical condition. To receive further care, she was transferred to

Birmingham, England. She survived, and has continued to speak out on the

importance of education. In March 2013, she was able to begin attending school

in Birmingham.

The 2013, 2014 and 2015 issues of Time magazine featured Yousafzai as

one of "The 100 Most Influential People in the World". She was the winner of

Pakistan's first National Youth Peace Prize, and the recipient of the 2013

Sakharov Prize. In July that year, she spoke at the headquarters of the United

Nations to call for worldwide access to education.. She has also written an

autobiography, I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot

by the Taliban, which was released in October 2013.

In February 2014, she was nominated for the World Children's Prize in

Sweden. Even though she was fighting in 2014, Yousafzai was granted an

honorary doctorate by the University of King's College in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

She

was nomitated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2013. In 2014, she was nominated

again and won, becoming the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

For her 18th birthday on July 12, 2015, also called Malala Day, the young

activist continued to take action on global education by opening a school for

Syrian refugee girls in Lebanon. Its expenses covered by the Malala Fund, the

school was designed to admit nearly 200 girls from the ages of 14 to 18.

Fonte: SITE BIO. Biography. s/d.
