SIMPLE PAST Como formá-lo? verbos regulares depende verbos irregulares REGULAR VERBS Basta acrescentar -ed para formar frases afirmativas no passado. VERBO FRASE AFIRMATIVA watch She watched a movie yesterday. wash Daddy washed the dishes last night. cook I cooked a special meal last month. clean You cleaned the bedroom two days ago. turn Mommy turned 55 last year. Cuidados antes de acrescentar -ed 1) se o verbo no infinitivo já terminar em -e, basta acrescentar –d VERBO FRASE NO PASSADO dance Your sister danced a lot last party. arrive You arrived late for work yesterday. Cuidados antes de acrescentar -ed 2) se o verbo terminar em CVC (consoante + vogal + consoante), duplica-se a última letra antes de acrescentar –ed VERBO FRASE NO PASSADO stop Carlos stopped smoking a year ago. plan You planned everything by yourself. Cuidados antes de acrescentar -ed 3) se o verbo no infinitivo terminar em -y precedido de consoante, troca-se o -y por -i e, daí, acrescenta-se –ed VERBO FRASE NO PASSADO cry The baby cried a lot last night. study I studied all night long. IRREGULAR VERBS Não há regra. Como fazer frases negativas? Basta colocar didn’t (ou did not) antes do verbo principal, que deve permanecer no infinitivo Obs.: perceba que não importa se o verbo é regular ou irregular FRASE AFIRMATIVA FRASE NEGATIVA She watched a movie yesterday. She didn’t watch a movie yesterday. Daddy washed the dishes last night. Daddy didn’t wash the dishes last night. I cooked a special meal last month. I didn’t cook a special meal last month. The waiter came to me at the restaurant. The waiter didn’t come to me at the restaurant. The tourist bought a lot of souvenirs. The tourist didn’t buy a lot of souvenirs. You did the right thing yesterday. You didn’t do the right thing yesterday. Como fazer perguntas? Basta colocar did antes do sujeito, sendo que o verbo principal deve permanecer no infinitivo Obs.: perceba que não importa se o verbo é regular ou irregular FRASE AFIRMATIVA PERGUNTA She pushed the door. Did she push the door? He listened to a lot of music yesterday. Did he listen to a lot of music yesterday? Diego started a new business. Did Diego start a new business? You slept well last night. Did you sleep well last night? She paid her debt. Did she pay her debt? He lost his cell phone at the nightclub. Did he lose his cell phone at the nightclub? E como dar respostas curtas às perguntas? PERGUNTA RESPOSTA CURTA Did she push the door? Yes, she did. / No, she didn’t. Did he lose his cell phone at the nightclub? Yes, he did. / No, he didn’t. Quais tempos verbais vimos até agora?
