Compliance with the requirements of European Directive 93/42/EEC dated 14 June 1993 relat-
ing to medical devices was assessed as described in Annex VII of the Directive. Lucea 50-100 
lights belong to Class I as described in Annex IX of Directive 93/42/EEC. 
3 QUALITY STANDARDS COMPLIANCE
3.1 CERTIFICATION OF MAQUET SA’S QUALITY SYSTEM
3.2 CE MARKING
To be compliant with IEC 60364-7-710, lighting backup systems must function for at least 3 
hours.
The external system must therefore have a capacity of at least 3 hours. The MAQUET 
backup unit makes it possible to check compliance with this requirement.

MAQUET is not responsible for the customer's external backup system (capacity, charge 
time, lifespan, etc.)

6 CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
Users must contact their hospital's sanitary specialists. The recommended products must be 
used and the recommended procedures followed. Should there be any doubt concerning the 
compatibility of active agents to be used, contact your authorised Maquet dealer.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING THE SURGICAL LIGHT
Check that the power is switched off and the light has cooled down before starting cleaning.
RECOMMENDATIONF
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS CONCERNING CLEANING, DISINFECTION AND SAFETY
 Wipe the equipment with a cloth moistened with a surface cleaner. Follow the manufacturer's 
dilution, application time, and temperature recommendations.
 Rinse the unit with a cloth and clean water. Wipe dry.
 Wipe evenly with a cloth moistened with disinfectant. Follow the manufacturer's 
recommendations.
 Use a cloth to rinse with clean water in orderto remove residues (in particular products 
containing aldehydes, quaternary ammonium or surfactants).
 Wipe with a dry cloth.
 Make sure no liquid residue is left on the device after cleaning.
RECOMMENDED PRODUCTS
Getinge USA product: TEC-QUAT 256.
Anios products: SURFA’SAFE; 0.5% HEXANIOS G + R; ANIOSYME P.L.A; SALVANIOS 
pH10; ANIOS DDSH.
Schülke & Mayr products: ANTIFECT PLUS.
PROHIBITED PRODUCTS
 Solutions containing glutaraldehyde, phenol, iodine, bleach, alcohol or chloride ions must 
not be used.
 Fumigation methods are unsuitable for disinfecting the unit and must not be used.

7 MAINTENANCE
7.1 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
To preserve your light's original performance and reliability, annual maintenance and inspec-
tions should be performed as follows:
 During the guarantee period: by a Maquet technician or Maquet-approved distributor.
 Outside the warranty period: by a Maquet technician or Maquet-approved distributor, or a 
hospital technician trained in the Maquet SA products in question. (Please contact your 
Maquet dealer to undergo the technical training required.)
7.2 BASIC MAINTENANCE
The operation and safety of the device may be affected by the removal of certain compo-
nents during servicing operations. For example: For example:
 When servicing the electrical power supply,
 When servicing the suspension arms and balance system,
 When servicing the lighthead.
Contact your authorised Maquet after-sales service department for this type of servicing.
WARNING!
Daily checks (user)
 Check the lightheads for chipped paint, impact marks, 
any other damage, loose covers, etc.).
 Check that the cap protecting the brake screw is prop-
erly seated.
 Check for all the attachment screws.
 Check the stability/drift of the system.
 Check whether the LEDs operate correctly, by pressing 
the On/Off button on the lighthead. 
The surgical light is a high-intensity light source. Do not 
look directly into it.

 Check whether the sterilisable handle clicks and locks in 
place correctly; replace it if not.

 Check that the remote control (optional) works properly: 
lighthead lights up:
- Check the state of batteries
- Check the lighthead selection function
- If there is a camera, check the zoom adjustment and 
camera rotation function (0° to 180°).
 Mobile stand: check the power lead for signs of 
damage.
 Only for power supplies with battery backup: 
- Make sure that the light operates correctly from the 
backup power supply, in case of a power cut.
Monthly checks (user)
 Check the lightheads for chipped paint, impact marks, 
any other damage, loose covers, etc.).
 Check the lighting for the entire operating (spring arm, 
complete suspension with ceiling cover).

Monthly checks (user)
 Make sure that the light operates correctly from the 
backup power supply, in case of a power cut (see 
section 10.6). Do the same for the mobile versions with 
batteries.
 Make sure that the charge left in the batteries meets 
your needs.
Annual checks
(must be performed by an authorised technician)
 Check the verticality of the suspension tube (ceiling 
model).
 Check the tightness of the attachment screws on the 
suspension tube (ceiling model).
 Check for the stops and brake and measure their 
efficiency.
Check for any loose covers and caps.
Check whether the spring arm is correctly balanced.
Check the illumination adjustment by pressing and 
releasing or pressing and holding and

light meter.

Mobile stand: check the power lead for signs of 
 damage.
Mobile stand: check the verticality of the pole.
Check that the retaining screws and all visible screws of 
the pole and the arm are tightly fastened.
For the casters of the mobile model of the light:
- Check their overall condition
- Check they are tightly fastened
- Check that the brake locking system work properly.

15 CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING - MOBILE VERSION
The light is designed to operate using a 100 V-240 V power supply.
Higher or lower voltages may affect the light intensity and operating life of the LEDs.
WARNING!
Insert the mobile light's plug (A) into a 
mains socket (make sure that it is in good 
condition and protected/shielded).
Do not pull on the power supply lead to disconnect it from the power outlet.
