1Resumo de inglês – 1º testão Aluno : 2038 – Sacramento Revisando rapidamente A/AN A is used before words that start with consonant sounds(A é usado para palavras que começam com som de consoante) Examples: A car A dog A basket A tomato AN is used for words that start with vowel sounds(AN é usado para palavras que começam com som de vogal) Examples: An orange An apple An hour**** (Começa com consoante mas o som é de vogal,pronuncia-se igual a OUR) An egg COUNTABLE X UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS Countable- These are the nouns we can count,we can say for example, an egg,two eggs,an apple,three apples, the countable nouns go to the plural(Contavéis – Estes são os nomes que podemos contar, nós podemos dizer por exemplo, um ovo,dois ovos,uma maçã,três maçãs,os nomes contáveis vão para o plural) Uncountable – These are the nouns we can't count,you say,for example,butter,meat,sugar,but we can't say two butters,two meats,two sugars,Uncountable nouns don't go to plural(Incontáveis- Estes são os nomes que não podemos contar,você diz,por exemplo,manteiga,carne,açúcar,mas não podemos dizer duas manteigas,duas carnes,dois açúcars,os nomes incontáveis não vão para o plural) SOME/ANY We use some with the plural fo countable nouns and with the uncountable nouns in positive sentences. For example: POSITIVE COUNTABLE UNCOUNTABLE We need An egg Some butter We need Some eggs Some meat **WE CAN USE SOME IN INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES TO ASK AND OFFER THINGS!!! EXAMPLES: Can I have some coffe? Would you like some meat? Can I have some biscuits? Would you like some sugar? We use any with the plural of the countables nouns and with the uncountable nouns in negative and interrogative sentences NEGATIVE COUNTABLE UNCOUNTABLE We don't need An apple Any water We don't need Any apples Any sugar Interrogative COUNTABLE UNCOUNTABLE Do we need An onion?
