Scenario: 
 
Jake Norton is a senior on the UNC tennis team. He’s had several knee injuries and 
has been prescribed oral nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for the pain and 
inflammation. Unfortunately, Jake has re-injured his knee and cringes at the thought of 
having to take another oral NSAID due to the “horrible stomach upset he experienced.” 
The trainer tells Jake that they have started using topical ketoprofen and that most of 
the athletes have tolerated the medication really well.
