Reparo do tecido cardíaco. Regeneração do tecido hepático . Tratamento dadiabetes - reparo do pâncreas. Reparo de músculo, vasos sanguíneos e pele (tratamento de queimados) Características de Células progenitoras adultas • Encontradas em pontos discretos nos principais orgãos e sistemas • Potencial restrito ao orgão residente (e.x. stem cells neuronais fazem somente tecido cerebral, stem cells de medula fazem sangue, etc.) • Uma reserva de tecido para reparo • Alguns estudos SUGEREM que as stem cells de adulto podem contribuir para o reparo de fígado cérebro, músculo e outros tecidos A medula ósse contém 3 tipos de células progenitoras: Células progenitoras endoteliais (HSC)- hemácias, leucócitos e plaquetas Células mesenquimais: osteblastos, condrócitos, miócitos Células progenitoras endoteliais Figure 23-43 Molecular Biology of the Cell (© Garland Science 2008) • As HSC (hematopoietic stem cells) constituem 1:10000 das células do tecido mielóide. • Estas células dão origem as células mielóides (monócitos, magrófagos, neutrófilos, basófilos, eosinófilos, eritrócitos, megacariócitos/plaquetas e células dendríticas) e a linhagem linfóide – celulas T, B e NK.
