Introduction to "PlexTurbo"
1
PlexTurbo is an in-house developed smart caching technology by
PLEXTOR which supports only PLEXTOR SSD models.
2
PlexTurbo is a caching software for system memories. Through high
processor speed of a CPU, speed is increased and the read and write
volume is decreased. Repeated reading and writing of cached data
affects speed.
3
The maximum cache capacity that PlexTurbo can enable will vary by
model.
1GB:M6V
4GB:M6S
16GB:M6e Black Edition (M6e-BK), M6e, M6e M.2 2280, M6 PRO
4
PlexTurbo supports multiple Plextor SSDs to enable caching, up to a
maximum of 16 GB.
5
PlexTurbo can adjust cache size and cache release time according to
the different models.
• Occupied cache size: default value is 1/4 of the system memory or
800 MB, adjustable range is 1/4 of DRAM (800 MB) to 1/2 of DRAM
(16 GB).
• Cache release time: default value is 10 minutes, adjustable range is
1 minute to 4 hours.
6
PlexTurbo provides a "preload" feature, whereby usage prior to a
shutdown is recorded then preloaded next time the computer is
turned on, increasing efficiency of reading and writing files.
7
Minimum System Requirements:
1. Processor speed higher than 1 GB Hz
2. Memory greater than 2 GB
3. Win 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 (x86 / x64)
4. One or more supported PLEXTOR drive/s
Note:
• If partitions are not aligned by 4K, the read and write capability of
PlexTurbo is affected.
• PlexTurbo makes exceptional use of DRAM resources. Therefore, if
the performance and quality of the DRAM affects system stability
after starting PlexTurbo, it is recommended to increase the amount
of the DRAM or manually adjust the caching of PlexTurbo to be 1/4
the size of the system DRAM.
