● Guide to Evony The Kings Return By (APE) DarthxMoist - S201 BUBBLES FOR FREE All it requires for you to have constant access to truce agreements without coining is activity. Follow these steps and you'll never be short of bubbles. - Donate resources to alliance science. The donation isn't much, and can be done every 4 hours, or every 20 minutes if you don't let the clock reach 4 hours. That gives you alliance points, which should ONLY be used for 3 day truce agreements - Participate in daily Monarch events. Reach the third goal, and you get free gems. The goals are according to your keep level, so it isn't tough to reach the third goal for anyone if you're active. - You get 4x50 gems that appear on your wall everyday. Make sure you collect those. - If there still is need, send a batch of your troops to farm for gems everyday. It's slow, but can be done if you need gems. - Also, for when events are on, try to crack the 12 hammer egg. It gives 1k gems. You only need 1k for a 24 hour bubble. Crack it once, and you're sorted for the day. Activating all 4 eggs will reward you with another 1k (this requires 58-70 hammers) Ideally, buy 3 day bubbles. They're the most value for money. If not, then buy 24 hour ones. DO NOT invest in 8 hour bubbles. They are only meant for when you're attacking and need to bubble up thereafter to defend. Also, join as many rallies as possible. That way, you won't have to use your gems to speed up troops or buildings. Bosses over b10 give resources as well. It sucks to rebuild. Don't put yourself in that position. We're the top alliance on the server, and need to lead by example, not get zeroed repeatedly. GENERALS, SKILLS AND REFINING Please read through, especially the last part, which is about refining gear. Refining is more crucial than getting to your goal of k33 or k35. You can have the biggest troops, but with poor refines, you'll still lose. With great refines, you'll win/do better with even small troops. Key for ones reading this in a language other than English- - "Ranged troops" means archers - "Mounted troops" means cavalry/horses - "gen" means general - "PvP" means player versus player - "bu" means the attack/defense percentage Firstly - DO NOT buy any non-historic generals. You'll be wasting gold on them. Even on historic gens, only gold gens are the ones to go for, and even then, many in the tavern are no longer worth it so please ask in ac if a gen is worth it or not before buying them. Some examples of good gens- Ranged PvP- Elektra, Himiko, Minamoto, Li Shimin, Gustavus, Gwang Cav - Martinus, Ulysses, Hannibal, Takeda, Roland Ground - Trajan, Scipio Wall- Johnston, Gwang, Ly Thuong Kiet, Trajan, Tran Hung Dao Bosses- Martinus, Ulysses, Takeda, Li Jing, Hannibal, Roland Subs- Nero, Cixi, Andrew Jackson, Cnut (If you use wounded-dead generals, **** you) Some of these generals can only be found in the Tavern, the generals that appear are completely random but there is a higher chance of getting gold historic generals with a high level tavern (25+) so don’t waste gems refreshing until then. Most of the gold historic generals in the tavern are old and no longer good but here is a table of the generals that of May 2020 can still be useful (some less than others) PvP Cav (Rallies) Debu Other Li Shimin (32million) Takeda (32million) A Jackson (32million) Queen Jindeok (21mil) Gustavas (40million) Khalid (38million) Emp. Cixi (26million) Baibars (30million) Trajan - (35million) Nero (24million) Huo Qubing (35million) Cleopatra (16million) SKILLS While adding skill books to your general, start with lvl 1 skills, and fill all three slots with lvl 1s of the skills you want, and only then replace them with lvl 3s or lvl 4s. That way, you end up preventing loss of the rare lvl 4 skill books. There can be only one skill of a particular type on a general, so when you have put the lvl 1s, the lvl 4s will replace only that particular skill and not throw out any other kind. Skills for Ranged PvP gens- This depends on what general you’re using, and if it allows another Ranged attack skill. If it does, then go for Ranged Attack, Ranged HP and Ranged Range Bonus. If it already has a ranged attack and doesn’t allow another one, then go for ranged HP, ranged defense, and ranged range bonus. For cav PvP gens- Mounted attack, mounted HP and mounted defense. If it already has a 25% cav attack and doesn’t let you add another, then go for March size. DO NOT put Mounted Speed on a cav PvP general. It will rush your cavs past the enemy ground to the enemy ranged, and get them killed. For ground PvP gens- Ground defense, ground HP and ground speed. If any of them already exists as a 25% bu main skill, go for ground attack instead. For boss generals- Mounted attack, mounted HP and luck. Skills for wall gens- Now, this is a little complicated. Skills for a wall gen depend on the troop setup you have and the gen you have. If you plan to build a lot of ground troops to defend against a ranged attack, give the gen Ground Defense, Ground HP and Siege Range Bonus/Ranged Range Bonus (if you also have a lot of ranged troops). If you want to build bulk ranged troops and have a ranged + siege defense, give the gen Ranged Attack, Siege Range Bonus, and Ranged Range Bonus. However, if you have a decent number of ground troops, replace ranged attack with ground defense. If you have a lot of cavs, and want to defend with those, you can only hope the enemy sends a ground march. Or else you'll face heavy losses in every other situation. Incoming ranged troops will wipe you out in such a scenario. To protect yourself against a ranged hit, you need to build ground troops. Skills for the wall gen in this case would be- Mounted Attack, Mounted HP, Ground Defense. GEAR This part is very simple. Just like skills, your gear needs to be in accordance with the troops you have and the general you're putting the gear on. PvP generals would have ranged/mounted gear depending on what troop type you want to lead with. Boss generals should always be given only gear having mounted bus. Wall gens should have gear based on what troops you want to defend with- cavs, siege, ground or ranged. IMPORTANT- Invest only in Dragon's gear or higher. King's gear and lower are a waste. IMPORTANT- Read the bus before building gear. A lot of the gear that says "mounted" in the name, is for ranged troops, and vice versa. This table is for players in the late game who have unlocked Ares and Achaemenidae Gear but covers the Gear combinations for your PvP, Rally and Ground Generals. PVP RALLY GROUND Ares Bow Ares Spear Ares/Ach Sword Mounted Ares Armour Mounted Ares Chest Ranged Ares Chest Ranged Ares Boots Ranged Ares Boots Mounted Ach Boots Ranged Ares Helmet Ranged Ares Helmet Mounted Ares Helmet Mounted Ach Legs Mounted Ach Legs Ranged Ares Legs Ranged Ach ring Mounted Ach Ring Ranged Ares Ring REFINES Refining is the most crucial aspect that determines whether you win or lose a battle. They are very expensive, but very important. You'll end up burning a LOT of gold and gems to get the right refines. Millions. MANY millions. But without good refines, you can’t win. IMPORTANT- When you get a good refine you can lock it by tapping the padlock next to it. This makes that particular stat will stay the same when you continue to refine. Each ‘lock’ costs gems. Look for high refines before locking them, especially for the first refine as this will be the cheapest and easiest. Go for % increases not flat numbers. On dragon gear you can refine up to 20% and 25% on Achmaidae (idk how tf to spell it). So aim for as close to this as possible otherwise you’re wasting gems on locking bad refines. Each gear gives only a particular type of refine - Bow/Spear/Axe/Sword have attack refines, Legs and Helmet have HP refines, Boots and Chest armour have defence refines. Ranged pvp general - all 24 refines for ranged troops Mounted general - all 24 refines for mountain troops Ground pvp general- all 24 refines for ground troops Wall general - This will largely depend on what troops you actually have to defend with Assuming you have all troops available, split your attack refines between arch and siege, hp refines between arch and ground, defence refines all to ground If you’re mostly using ground and siege then all your attack refines should be siege and all defence/HP for ground troops If you’re defending with cav and a cav general.. Well try not to unless you know that you are being attacked by ground troops. DO NOT REFINE YOUR SUB GENERALS DEBUFFS To begin with, things like having the better general with the best refines are most important, but once you’re regularly facing well built k32s and k35s you need to be able to cap your debus for as many troop stats as possible. This means debung the enemies stats by 50% (the cap). You do this using a combination of sub city generals (Cixi, Jackson and Cnut) and Achaemenidae Gear. Obviously the 50% cap depends on the tech of the enemy but we’ll use 1200% archer attack as an example as this is usually as high as people can get. In order to cap someone with a 1200% archer attack you need -600% archer attack. Capping debus is extremely expensive and most players won’t reach this stage for over a year, if ever. There are multiple combinations for capping debus but here is one. Debus STAT Ring Helmet Armour Legs Boots Axe Ares Sword Gens Tech Total % Ranged Attack 7M 6Ares. R 7. A Jackson Ranged HP 5 Ranged Def 6R 2 Cixi Cav Atk 3M Cav HP 2R 3R 4 7 A. Jackson Cav Def 3M 9M 2 Cixi Ground Attack Ground HP 2R 6M 5 Ground Def 6M 2 Cixi Siege Attack 6Ares. R 6R 9M Siege HP Siege Def 2 Cixi ATTACK SETUPS There are largely three main PvP attack setups you can choose from (better to have all)- pure ranged, pure cavs, pure ground. Trust me, split bus don't work on oense anymore. The enemy debus will eat you up that way. Thumb rule- Ground troops are strong against ranged and siege, ranged strong against cavs, cavs strong against ground and siege. Siege are strong against ranged, but only when bued very well. Also, it’s the easiest to debu siege, which has rendered siege the weakest troop type of all four. Until the battle mechanics are changed again, you can stop prioritising siege troops. IMPORTANT- You need to layer all your attacks to minimise your losses and deal more damage. Layers are 1-5k of each troop type of each tier being added to your preset. Those who don't have presets yet, please set them asap. Choosing troops individually at the end will always mean you either get hit back or your target bubbles/flies away. Pure Ranged Ranged is eective against cities that have bulk cavs (which are most cities in this game). For this, you need your lead general to be focused on ranged refines. Each refine out of the available 24 needs to be ranged. An ideal ranged preset for a 500k march size (add or reduce in proportion to your march size) would look like- Ranged (highest tier) - 100k Ranged (t12s) - 330k Ranged (all other tiers)- 5k Layers (all lower tiers, all other troop types)- 1k each (If you have a 1 million march size, I’d strongly recommend 2.5k layers. For a 1.4 mil march size, 5k layers) The reason you need to use bulk of t12s and not the highest tier- attacks take place in rounds, with the first round being tier vs tier, meaning that each tier will go for the same tier of the enemy (example- your t13s will hit their t13s). However, t12s are the only tier that don't follow this rule. They take shots at whatever they find- mostly, layers. As a result, your t12s will end up decimating all enemy layers in the first round, leaving their top tier exposed and naked. In the following rounds, your top tier, layers, and remaining t12s will kill everything. However, this method is just a cheaper way of fighting, if you can aord to send bulk t14s then that can be more potent but is more expensive. Generals for this setup- Elektra, Himiko, Gwang, Li Shimin, Gustavus, Minamoto Ranged troops need high attack and HP bus. I could explain why it works that way, but that’s a very lengthy explanation in itself. Pure Cav Cavs are eective against a city with a lot of ground troops and one with a decent number of siege. Cavs eat through ground and siege, but are weak vs ranged troops, unless your cav attack and HP is at least 100 percentage points higher than the enemy’s ranged attack and HP. ● With a 500k march size, the setup will be- Cavs (highest tier)- 100k Cavs (t12s)- 350k Cavs (all other tiers)- 5k Layers- 1k each Generals for this setup- Ulysses, Khalid, Martinus, Takeda Cavs require high attack and HP. Remember to never give your cav general the ‘mounted speed’ skill. It’ll get you hammered. Mounted speed only works vs bosses. Pure Ground This is arguably the most potent attack setup, but needs to be used very carefully. Firstly, you need to know exactly when and against what troops to use it, and your bus are of paramount importance here. Thumb rule- if there are cavs in the enemy’s city, don’t use a ground march. The cavs need to be cleared with a ranged march before your ground can be sent. It’s much safer to use ground marches in temples and throne, when there is a pure ranged march inside. Ground troops bludgeon ranged troops. I’d strongly recommend that only the big players, and especially only those that have a thorough understanding of the battle mechanics ever use ground marches on cities. The setup would be the same. Highest tier- 100k Ground (t12s)- 350k Ground (all other tiers)- 5k Layers- 1k each Generals for this setup- Scipio, Trajan. Ground troops need high defense and HP. Now these are all indications in terms of how your setup should be. You can alter these depending on your general, what you’re hitting, and how many losses you’re willing to take. For all attacks against heavily stocked k35s, t12s begin to lose their edge. There, you’d need to rely purely on your t14s to deal damage. So, for those keeps, replace the 350k t12s with t14s, and send 50k each of t13 and t12. Crucially, please work to increase your refines. They make all the dierence between a win and a loss. I’ve thrashed 2 mil t14 marches that had trash bus, with my 860k t12 march. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions. There's also a fourth setup- Siege cav. Need an 80:20 seige cav split with layers for that. This is for an advanced game though, with full T14s. Not eective for lower tiers. RESOURCES Ah, the lifeblood of evony.. resources. By now you’re probably aware that those higher level upgrades ain’t cheap so it’s important you are making the most of every way to get resources. So without further ado, here are all the ways you can go about getting more resources. Black Market - the most expensive but the fastest way to acquire resources. - Level 18, 5mil resource packs 1800 gems, best value for money - Level 21, 20mil resource packs 8400 gems, least value for money - Level ?, 2mil resource packs 810 gems - Level 25, 50mil resource packs ? gems Resource Fields - you gotta spend money to make money - The base production levels are very low even at high levels - Maxing your resource production research is essential for making this eective - Use oerings (I recommend 3-5 a day if possible) and 24 hour 2x production items from the black market to further increase production - Equip the Monarch gear Crystal relevant to the resource you need most - Combined with all this and having your resource fields level 23+ you can easily make millions of resources an hour which is well worth the investment - Do not make more than 1 farm, once you start making troops your food will be eaten faster than you can produce it - The rest is up to you to decide but I personally have 12 sawmills, 8 mines, 8 quarries, and 1 army camp. This allows me to maximise resource production for troop training and expensive upgrades - As of May 2020, 6 weeks into the server I am making 100million resources aday (total not individual) Resource Tiles - Tired of constant battle? Put your troops to work collecting resources on tiles - Unlike resource fields, this method is a lot cheaper to be used eectively however you must sacrifice march slots, missing rallies and be actively sending your troops back out when they return. - Once again it is important you max out your gathering speed research, but once this is done you can easily make millions of resources an hour just by logging in to send your marches out when they return - Obviously troop level aects resource carrying capacity but so does the troop type. Siege can carry the most followed by ground troops so if you are making troops specifically for gathering focus on these 2. If your server has a problem with tile hitting use tier 1 troops to gather as these are cheap to heal/rebuild. Otherwise just use the troops you should already be training for layers (see pvp section of guide) - Certain generals can increase gathering eectiveness, for example Queen Jindeok and Han Xin increase the amount gathered, while Princess Lucy increases the speed your troops gather resources - Equip the Monarch gear Crystal relevant to the resource you are gathering most Plunder - okay okay I get it, you don’t want to play farmville. Fine you don’t have to. - When attacking (successfully obviously) your troops will return with resources up to their carry capacity of resources from the enemy city. - Cities will automatically teleport randomly when defeated 10x so be prepared to use arrest warrants and teleports to clear particularly loaded cities - Be careful of in city traps as these can cause some damage to low level troops when plundering - Use generals that increase march size or troop load like Attila or Genghis Khan to maximise resources per attack - Equip either the troop load or march size Monarch gear Horn Miscellaneous - These methods are either the by-products of other features or only provide small amounts of resources. - Quests, just by completing the quests set by the game which usually involves upgrading certain buildings you can recover hundreds of thousands of resources. - Embassy, besides the purchase gifts and boss killed packs your alliance can help by transporting you resources, there is however a limit on this which can only be increased by upgrading your embassy. - Events, most event challenges such as crazy eggs, special bosses, visiting objectives (like easter bunnies) will provide some amount of resources, find more information in the event section of the guide. - Consumption returns, during events there is usually a resource reward for consuming certain amounts of speedups, gems or even resources themselves. FOOD Food will always be a problem for anyone with some sort of army due to troop consumption. Fortunately we have access to the Alliance Warehouse where we can store an amount of food relative to our keep level everyday. Hopefully you have all seen my advice on resource buildings so you should only have 1 or 2 farms built. Everytime you claim food from these buildings, send it to the alliance warehouse. Combined with gathering you can send the maximum amount to the warehouse everyday. For me at keep 30 thats 12mil a day so I produce 5mil a day in city and gather 7mil a day from tiles. This means that everyday I gain 12mil food safe from troops. Make sure to check how much you can send to the warehouse at your keep level and adjust how much you gather per day according to that, if you gather/produce more than you can send it will be eaten. (You can also see how much food you're losing per hour by going to resource detail on the monarch screen) Also make sure you are keeping all your food in boxes until you need it (which you should be doing for all resources in case you drop bubble and get cleaned out) BUILDINGS AND THEIR USES Some buildings in evony have just 1 function e.g. troop training but some have many dierent functions that often go unnoticed to begin with, this is a list of every building in the game and a summary of what upgrading them does. Keep - The most important building in the game, it is necessary to unlocking almost every single thing you need to be successful in evony - Aside from being a requirement for every other building upgrade, you can also levy gold here for gems (as well as an amount of free levy’s relevant to your keep level). Whilst it’s quite expensive you can increase its worth by researching coinage in the advancement tree of research. - If you are not coining you should aim for k25 within a month of joining the server, if you are coining ($100+) you should aim for k27, and $500 or more should get you k30 within the month. - general on duty increases construction speed & troop training capacity from 5% & 0% - 25% & 50% Academy - used to research new technologies that will be essential for your development and military. There will be a separate guide coming soon for research itself. - home of the skill book shop where you can purchase level 1-3 skill books for gems. - general on duty increase research speed from 5%-25% Embassy - upgrading this is essential if you want to properly utilise the advantages of being in a strong alliance - upgrading this increases the amount of reinforcements you can hold, the more reinforcements you can hold, the more likely your alliance is to reinforce you - there is a limit on transporting and receiving resources from fellow alliance members. However you can increase this by upgrading your embassy. This is important if you want to be able to receive more help from allies - upgrading this will also get more time o your builds when alliance members press the help button - I would recommend getting your embassy to a minimum of level 23 once you have reached your desired keep level -general on duty increases reinforcing troop stats up to 30% Market - home of the Black Market, here you can use gems, gold and resources to purchase almost any item you can imagine, from monarch gear to resources to wheel spins and tributes. Be careful that the Black Market can draw you in and before you know you’ve spent a lot more than you initially planned. Do not buy general gear or monarch gear from here. - You can also tax small amounts of resources here with a small chance of a multiplier be applied, it’s not the best value for money but its useful when you find yourself only 200k short on resources - general on duty increases resources taxed up to 70% Prison - When victorious in battle your troops will take a % of the enemy troops as captives, these captives can be used every 4 hours to either temporarily increase resource production or to increase your prestige. - There is also a chance to capture enemy generals which can then be executed, released or held for the given time during which the enemy player can use gems to pay the generals ransom, giving you gold - upgrading this increases the amount of prisoners you can hold and the % you capture during a victory Pasture - home of the Spiritual Beast’s and Dragons, each spiritual beast requires 300k SB exp to unlock - the first dragon costs 300k gems and is for an archer general, the 2nd dragon costs dragon crystals acquired in packs or through battlefields. - Thunder scorpion - archer bus - Bird of Hurricane - cavalry bus - Lord of Lava - ground bus - Behemoth King - siege bus - Spiritual Beasts and Dragons must be equipped to a general for their bus to take eect - Spiritual Beasts can be upgraded further using gems or more SB exp Hospital - this is where you will find and heal your wounded troops - while defending, on resource tiles or in throne your troops will only get wounded until the hospital capacity is reached, after this troops will die - this is why it is extremely important to keep your hospital capacity above your troop count either by levelling it or doing research - general on duty increases capacity up to 30% and heal speed up to 50% Tavern - accumulate 1 token for the wheel of fortune daily untilyou have 5 open - you can get more tokens by completing holiday event challenges - you can also use the tavern to recruit generals, aim to get your tavern to level 23-27 for better chances at finding a gold historic (which cost around 30-40mil gold), a lot of the gold historics in tavern are a lot weaker than new generals that can only be unlocked through coining so be sure to check the General guide for list of tavern generals worth purchasing - the tavern is also home to the daily activity menu which is a set of unchanging tasks relative to your keep level that you can complete daily to get small but helpful rewards like resources, gold and speedups Shrine - here you can oer gems/tributes to the gods in return for prestige, monarch exp, double resources production and other small rewards. - levelling up the shrine increases the monarch exp received from oerings which is very important for making it to the higher monarch levels - when your generals die they can be revived at the shrine Rally Spot - here you can view all information regarding your troops ie. how many you have of each type and tier, your troop upkeep, and how many troops you can send per march - upgrade this building to increase your march size - here you can also set march presets, these allow you to prepare your troops in advance so when you attack you can select your troops with just 1 button press. You unlock march slots by increasing your VIP level. - the three most important presets to begin with are your pvp preset (your main troops with layers), 1 troop no general to join rallies, and 100 troops for sub stealing, later on you will need a presets for all your troops so that you can ghost quickly while staying organised - general on duty increases march size by up to 25% and +50,000 Forge - here is where you craft, enhance and refine gear for your generals, gear and its refines are often the dierence between losing and winning once you reach the later stages of the server so it is very important to get this right. - if you think you can unlock dragon gear (forge 27) within the first month of the server do not make kings gear as this will be a waste of resources (a King’s ring can be useful for the double drop chance), however if you are not coining you should make a full set of kings gear before hopefully moving on to dragons gear. - gear requires materials and scrolls to produce, you can get material boxes from completing daily activities, quests and monsters - Kings scrolls come from b10-11, Dragon scrolls from b12 and b13 - every piece of gear has dierent stats and most items have 2 dierent variations with misleading names, either for pvp or rallies, so make sure you are equipping the right piece on the right general - weapons are the only items that do not have dierent variations, the spear is for cavalry, the bow for archers, sword for ground and axe for siege. - as i said earlier it is extremely important you refine your gear properly so please see the full guide on general gear for how to do this properly - general on duty increases crafting speed up to 50% War Hall - this is responsible for setting alliance wars, the higher its level the more troops your alliance can send to you rallies - for most people this building should not be a priority as only the players with the best army, generals and research should be starting alliance wars. - if however you are one of these top players, you will need to be able to rally at least 2.5million troops to be properly eective against enemies stronger than you Warehouse - this building protects your resources when you are being attacked. Increase its level to protect more resources - the warehouse also protects a small amount of food from being eaten by your army, again upgrading the warehouse will increase the amount of food protected from your army. *troops do not die or leave when out of food so there is nothing to worry about* -general on duty increases resource protection up to 70% and +100% from consumption Holy Palace - during battle, troops that would otherwise have been killed will desert, the amount of troops that can desert is set by the level of your holy palace - the holy palace will automatically create horns when there are deserters inside but you can also get horns from monsters and resource tiles - troops are recalled from the highest tier first to the lowest tiers last (section incomplete) Art Hall - here you collect artwork received from Artwork fragment chests which drop from monsters and resource tiles - once you collect enough artworks from each collection you can click on the now shining chest and claim a reward, each collection can be completed 3x requiring more art each time - there are also rewards for collecting sets of epic historic generals - completing multiple collections will unlock special gear that provide strong bus Research Factory - here you can use gems and gold to produce research stones, increase the amount you can produce daily by increasing the buildings level - you can also produce materials for crafting gear, this is free but takes time - click the general portraits on the research stone page to access historic general quests - general on duty increases production capacity up to 50% and production speed by 20% Arsenal - here you can pay resources to upgrade your troops from t10-14 *section not complete* Trap Factory - here you produce traps, likewise with troops each trap has a troop it counters - stones counter archers, abatis counter cav, traps counter ground and flaming arrows counter siege - low tier traps are basically useless and should only be made to complete the daily activity in tavern - however, with high level traps (tier 6+) and high level trap research (ideally maxed) they can be a potent threat to enemy attackers and straight up make up plundering your resources more expensive than its worth - it is worth bearing in mind that during the Battle of Constantinople, if the enemy alliance captures the Knights Hall your traps will be mostly destroyed by the end of the event. - general on duty increases trap building speed up to 100% and siege repair capacity up to 30% Troop Buildings - stables, archer camp, barracks and workshop are responsible for building your army, upgrading these buildings will unlock stronger troops. - do not mass produce troops until unlocking tier 10, or if you’re coining t11 or t12 (k25, 27 and 30) - troops below tier 10 are a waste of resources however making a few thousand of each troop type at each tier to use as layers later in the game and to gather resources with is perfectly acceptable - seriously, don’t mass produce low level troops. They will be decimated the second you encounter someone with t10 and higher Watch Tower - the level of your watch tower determines the detail in your scout reports and incoming attacks - scouting is extremely important in evony as you need to know if an enemy is reinforced or is just stronger than you think - ALWAYS SCOUT BEFORE ATTACKING, unless you are 100000% sure they are unreinforced and you already know what troops they have - your watch tower must be level 17 to see how many troops are reinforcing so this should be your first goal - click detail then more information to read about everything else your scout reports can show you Archer Tower - similar to traps this is almost useless but at a high level and with good research it can be useful - general on duty increases archer tower attack up to 150% Army Camp - army camps increase the amount of troops you can train at a time and also reduce the training time - its up to you how many army camps you build but i personally only have 1 as i would rather use the space for resource production Resource Fields - The base production levels are very low even at high levels - Maxing your resource production research is essential for making this eective - Use oerings (I recommend 3-5 a day if possible) and 24 hour 2x production items from the black market to further increase production- Equip the Monarch gear Crystal relevant to the resource you need most - Combined with all this and having your resource fields level 23+ you can easily make millions of resources an hour which is well worth the investment - Do not make more than 1 farm, once you start making troops your food will be eaten faster than you can produce it - The rest is up to you to decide but I personally have 12 sawmills, 8 mines, 8 quarries, and 1 army camp. This allows me to maximise resource production for troop training and expensive upgrades - if you wish to complete the main quest line, 2 level 25 farms will get you the keep 25 quest, 3 level 25 farms and 1 level 27 farm will allow you to complete the keep 30 quest, once done demolish and replace with other resource buildings Battlefield - this is where you enter the battlefields if you have been selected to participate - you can also use badges and dragon crystals in the battlefield shop to purchase rare items similar to the black market. PVP TACTICS Ghosting - is when you set an hour long alliance war on a random target with any troops you want to hide. All troops in the alliance war "rally" cannot be attacked unless you cancel the war or get force teleported. - During SVS and battlefields ghosting is extremely important as your troops cannot be exposed for more than a second unless you want to give the enemy easy points - This methods also useful in general pvp if you don't want to waste truces between attacks but you will leave resources exposed Bait & Switch - This requires very good teamwork and reactions but can result in some awesome victories - drop your bubble and have someone much bigger than you also drop bubble but somewhere out of sight - when someone attacks you teleport away and have the bigger player take your place, 99% of the time they can't react fast enough and will splat - this is a risky method because slow reactions can result in your own loss Speed Reinforce - speaks for itself really, wait for someone to attack your ally then speed reinforcements to them. - What we recently found in a test is that your troops perform better if there is no wall general opposed to a wall general that is weaker than your own (but not the main cities own troops) - this means that unless the person you're reinforcing has a considerable amount of their own troops, its better they don't have a wall general Backdoor - if someones subordinate cities are linked their main city troops will defend them from attacks - you can use this against them by hitting a sub city rather than hitting their main city because 1. They won't see you teleport 2. You avoid archer tower and traps. ACADEMY Besides your keep this is the most important building on the game. After every keep upgrade this should be the first thing you upgrade. Your construction speed and typography should be maxed according to your academy level AT ALL TIMES. This will save you hundreds of days of speedups in the long run. Prioritise these techs Construction Typography Adv construction Super typography Super construction Do typography and super typography first to make researching construction faster. Once you have maxed out your construction speed and research speed your next focus should depend on where your city is at, if you’re like me and want to focus on resource income then max out your resource production and gathering speed next, I produce 100million resources a day (all resource buildings 28/29) and gather 50-100mil depending on how much eort I put into it so in my opinion it's worth it. If however you’re looking to start pvping or running rallies then definitely focus on your troop bu tech, completing the Military tree as soon as possible, but another necessity that's often missed is Medicine. Not the research tree ‘Medicine’ but a tech found about halfway down the Defence tree, this reduces your healing cost by 70% which combined with the Monarch Talent that reduces healing cost, your healing will cost 10% of what it normally would. This is essential otherwise you’ll find running bosses quite expensive. By this point Server War will likely be close so if you’re planning on pvp you should turn your attention to the Medicine Tree/Defence Tree/Adv Military. Each tree has its advantages but it's up to you which order you do them. The medicine tree will make pvp a lot cheaper, especially the Light Of Server War research which increases the amount of troops revived per Source of Life used, SoL’s cost a lot of gems so it's important that you’re reviving as many troops as possible in order to save gems. While you probably don’t plan on getting hit in SvS, the reality is that due to lag, a delayed reaction or really anything, there is always a chance of you getting hit, so yea you’ll probably lose but if your troop bus are maxed in the defence tree it should help to balance the point score (obviously not if you’re getting hit by someone way bigger than you). Adv Military is very helpful for pvp as not only does it give further bus to your march size, speed and troops but you can also debu the enemies troops. This is the only way to do it until you unlock ares armor, or achaemenidae gear so it is very important especially for later on. SERVER WAR (incomplete) Servers become eligible for Server War about 2 months after they’ve been released. When your Server is matched with another, a new chat tab will open allowing the 2 servers to communicate with each other and then the Server War will begin the next day (Saturday) at server reset time. Once the War begins everyone will receive 2 server teleports in their mail which are used to randomly teleport you somewhere onto the enemy server (more can be purchased with gems). Server War functions similarly to Kill Event and Battlefields in that you gain points for capping buildings, killing bosses and killing enemy troops but on a completely dierent level. You have to be insanely quick, and have a pretty good understanding of the PvP tactics mentioned previously in the guide, so it is advised that new players remain on their home server until they have a considerable lead or have captured the enemy throne. Once your servers win is all but guaranteed, that is when it’s okay to practice (with the help of your leaders). Purge Before Server Wars, most servers will have a purge period, usually a few hours before the war begins where every single unbubbled player and resource tile is wiped out so that the enemy server can’t get points from them. Make sure everyone knows when this begins and who will be purging so that the wrong people aren’t attacked. For those people who will be taking part in PvP, there are a few major ways of helping your server which I will go over soon but first here is a checklist you can use to make sure you are ready to visit the enemy. - Correct Monarch Gear on (March Speed Horn, Wind Gear) - March Presets ready (PvP, Ghosts) - Targets Bookmarked (for rapid movement) - Home Server Bookmark (so you don’t get stuck trying to return home) - Troop Bus (Attk, Hp, Def, Use March Size inc. on any attack that will have significant losses) - Good allround skills in PVP (Ghosting, fast reaction times, good muscle memory etc.) Throne At ____ both Server’s Thrones will open and you can attempt to capture it, in most Wars it is extremely rare for a Throne to be captured due to limits on march size but against newer servers it can be quite common. Capturing the enemy servers Throne Usually the top players on each Server will work together, potentially all joining the same alliance so that they can rally and reinforce each other. To do this they will create a mini hive in the forest of Throne, have the strongest reinforcing Throne while the others reinforce him and capture towers. When capturing towers, if it's unoccupied send 1 troop and have all remaining troops ghosted. To capture an occupied building whether that’s Throne or a tower, scout it to see what troop composition is defending, if it’s all Archers send a fullGround wave/rally but if there are Cav then use a full Archers wave/rally. The same process is used for defending the Throne. Keep in mind that if there is a certain player on your server with insanely good debus as well as good bus, it may be worth them soloing rather than rallying due to the fact their subs debus don’t work in rallies. Temples Yo imma be real, temples were added while i was taking a break from the game and my servers first svs isnt for a couple weeks. I'll update this once i properly understand so heres just a basic guide. Temples work in the same way as buildings in Battlefields, if you occupy the enemies temples it will debu them. Just scout, see what's occupying, then hit/rally with the troops counter, standard stu. When a temple is occupied by the enemy it will appear red on the map, so check regularly. PvP Like in kill event, you gain points for killing enemy troops (players from the other server not your own), use normal pvp tactics but remember you cannot bubble on the enemy server so you must be confident in your abilities and reaction times. By checking the alliance leaderboards of the other server you can check if anyone from the enemy server is on your server as a skull will appear next to their name in their alliance’s member list. NON PvP For those of you not participating in PVP it is essential you keep bubbled at all times, share and visit statues when they arrive, visit faeries, check for unbubbled players on both servers and for enemy players visiting your server. If you find unbubbled players or resource tiles from your own server, DO NOT share their coordinates in world chat in case someone is spying, instead whisper them to another player on your server who can purge them. (There's lots of specific details missing but it’s been a long ass time since i did svs so that information will be added as I re remember it (like when throne opens, how many points statues and faeries give and more)) Battlefields Battlefields take place every 4 days and rotate between the Battle of Constantinople and Battle of Gaugamela. The event lasts 2 hours and your leadership will choose from the available time slots (should be predetermined based on time zones) and select up to 20 people to participate (participants must have been in the alliance for at least 3 days). Battlefields are a great way to gain Badges and Crystals, both essential for late game development as well as gems. During the battlefield all troops are wounded-only and will be healed for free at the end of the event (you may need to reload the game first). You can choose to heal during the event without spending resources but it will still cost you healing speedups. You can also not Bubble during the event. Once the event has started, if you have been signed up you can enter by going to the Battlefield building outside the city walls and clicking on the respective event. In the Battle of Constantinople you get points for killing enemy troops like in kill event but you also accumulate points over time by occupying buildings. Each Alliance starts with 40 teleports chances and the only way to gain more is by occupying Portals so it is important that you only teleport once to get closer to buildings (your leadership may assign you to a particular building) and then stay there. Ghost all your troops except a few 100 and then just scout buildings, if empty capture with 100 troops while keeping the rest hidden. It only takes a few hits to Force Port in Battlefield so keep in mind that the enemy may try FP you. If this happens make sure you ghost again ASAP before they find you and then just long march to buildings rather than wasting teleports (unless your alliance has a clear advantage and are dominating portals, but check with leadership first) Battle of Gaugamela functions in the exact same way but with less emphasis on buildings and players as the map is filled with bosses that also give points. If someone on your team is able to kill the b12s-15s that spawn then have them rally them so everyone gets the points. Other than the high level boss rallies and keeping buildings occupied, focus on soloing bosses as fast as you can. Again, DO NOT WASTE TELEPORTS. Battlefield Buildings Portals - Portals are the most important building on the Battlefield as capturing them will award your team with another Teleport chance for every portal occupied every minute. Preventing the enemy from capturing Portals will eventually leave them unable to move which makes controlling the Battlefield far easier. March Tower - Capturing the March Tower bus the alliance speed for all participating alliance members and debus the participating enemy march speed. Battle Tower - Capturing the Battle Tower gives a 20% bu to all troop stats for the occupying alliance Hospital - Capturing Hospital will increase your healing speed and debu the enemy heal speed Constantinople Exclusives Constantinople - The “Throne” of Battlefield. Capturing this gives very few actual bonuses but is one of the best ways to gain points Knights Hall - Once captured, a wave of Knights will be set on the opposing team every 3 minutes. Similarly to Undead the waves get stronger every time and will decimate your traps if you have any.
