Hyperproteinemia refers to the condition of having increased levels of total protein in the blood. It can be caused by various factors, including monoclonal diseases, which lead to an elevation of immunoglobulins and an increase in total serum protein levels. Chronic polyclonal diseases can also cause a diffuse increase in gamma globulins, contributing to hyperproteinemia. Additionally, dehydration can result in a relative increase in all protein fractions.
