A definição de Missão é a razão de ser ou propósito fundamental de uma organização, que expressa o verdadeiro motivo pelo qual ela existe. A missão deve ser definida em termos de satisfazer alguma necessidade no ambiente externo e não deve ser apresentada na forma de oferecer um produto. A missão deve responder a perguntas como: Qual é o nosso negócio? Quem é o nosso cliente? O que ele realmente quer quando vem até nós? A missão deve ser clara, objetiva e constantemente revisada.
