ZERO AND FIRST 
CONDITIONALS 
As condicionais descrevem o resultado de uma determinada condição. E hoje só farei resumo 
de duas delas porque só elas cairão na minha prova. 
A cláusula if informa a condição (If you study hard) e a cláusula principal informa o resultado 
(you will pass your exams). A ordem das cláusulas não altera o significado 
 
ZERO CONDITIONAL 
Para falar de coisas que são sempre verdade, por exemplo, um fato científico, leis e regras. 
ESTRUTURA= If /when + Present Simple + , + Present Simple 
 
If I drink too much coffee, I can't sleep at night. 
Ice melts if you heat it. 
When the sun goes down, it gets dark. 
• PRESENT SIMPLE 
Utilizado para indicar ações habituais que ocorrem no presente, expressar verdades universais, 
sentimentos, desejos, opiniões e preferências. Ele é equivalente ao presente do indicativo na 
língua portuguesa. 
I, you, we e they ⇝ infinitivo sem o to 
he, she e it ⇝ acrescentar -s, -es ou -ies 
 
I live in Brazil. (Eu moro no Brasil). - verbo to live (morar, viver). 
He teaches Spanish at the university. (Ele ensina espanhol na universidade.) - verbo to teach 
(ensinar). 
They prefer Italian food. (Eles preferem comida italiana.) - verbo to prefer (preferir). 
She watches TV every day. (Ela assiste TV todos os dias.) - verbo to watch (assistir). 
We like to go to the beach during the week. (Nós gostamos de ir à praia durante a semana.) - 
verbo to like (gostar). 
o To work 
 I work; You work; He works; She works; We work; You work; They work 
o Be 
 
 
I am; you are; he is; she is; it is; we are; they are; I'm; you're; he's; she's; it's; we're; 
they're 
o Verbos terminados em -o, -z, -ss, -ch, -sh, -x ⇝ É preciso acrescentar -es no 
final do verbo. 
To teach – teaches; to watch – watches; to push – pushes; to kiss – kisses; to go – 
goes; to fix - fixes 
o Verbos terminados em -y precedido de consoante, retira-se o -y e acrescenta-
se -ies 
To fry – fries; to fly – flies; to study – studies; to worry - worries 
o Verbos terminados em -y precedido de vogal, acrescenta-se somente o -s. 
To say – says; to play - plays 
 
FIRST CONDITIONAL 
Usamos para falar de possibilidades no presente e no futuro. 
ESTRUTURA= If /when + Present Simple + , + Simple Future (Will) 
 
If it doesn't rain tomorrow, we'll go to the beach. 
Arsenal will be top of the league if they win. 
When I finish work, I'll call you. 
o Também podem ser: 
We’ll go to the park if it’s sunny (Neste caso, não pode colocar vírgula).
