Texto 65. She explored the house.
• SHE EXPLORED THE HOUSE
• Her friend’s home was big. Femme knew Jill 
was rich, but she didn’t expect her to be this 
rich. While Jill fetched some cookies and 
juice, she explored the house. She could tell 
that her family loved art. They had several 
paintings and sculptures displayed in the 
living room. Among all the art pieces 
displayed, one painting drew her the most. It 
was a seaside painting. Looking at it, she was 
reminded of her father. Her father was once a 
good painter, too, and his favorite subject was 
the sea. When Jill came back with the snacks, 
she asked her about it. Jill said it was a gift 
from her father’s friend back in college. They 
looked at the name of the painter written at 
the back of the piece. There, they found the 
name of Femme’s father written in scribbles.

• A casa de sua amiga era grande. Femme sabia 
que Jill era rica, mas não esperava que ela 
fosse tão rica. Enquanto Jill buscava alguns 
biscoitos e suco, ela explorou a casa. Ela podia 
dizer que sua família amava a arte. Eles 
tinham várias pinturas e esculturas exibidas 
na sala de estar. Entre todas as peças 
expostas, uma pintura a atraía mais. Era uma 
pintura à beira-mar. Olhando para ela, ela 
lembrou-se de seu pai. Seu pai também era 
um bom pintor, e seu tema favorito era o mar. 
Quando Jill voltou com os petiscos, ela 
perguntou sobre isso. Jill disse que era um 
presente do amigo de seu pai na faculdade. 
Olharam para o nome do pintor escrito na 
parte de trás da peça. Lá, eles encontraram o 
nome do pai de Femme escrito em rabiscos.
