Pirate Playdough Mats
This pirate themed play dough set contains four printable 
playdough mats:
• A pirate flag to decorate.
• A treasure chest waiting for some treasure.
• An empty pirate map.
• Empty sea for a pirate ship to sail on.
What is in this set?
You may have noticed that our play dough mats are a little 
different from some of the others out there.
Our play dough mats are designed as an open-ended 
prompt.
They offer a starting point to encourage imagination and 
creativity. They ask open-ended questions to encourage kids 
to come up with their own ideas rather than simply following 
instructions.
There are no right or wrong answers, only creativity, 
exploration and fun, while also working on fine motor skills, 
hand strength, coordination and more.
So if your child wants to put a unicorn on their pirate flag, 
that’s awesome! Or If the treasure chest full of candy, that’s 
cool too! Have fun, be creative, and enjoy these pirate 
playdough mats!
What makes this play dough set dif ferent?
Ideas and Extras
These play dough mats and accessories are great for all kinds of 
play dough and modelling dough.
You can use them with just dough, or with a range of play dough 
accessories and/or loose parts (small items are not suitable for 
very young children).

• marbles.

• glass gems
• small blocks
• wooden shapes
• straws 
• toothpicks
• craft sticks
• leaves and sticks
• pieces of bubble wrap

Printing Instructions
This is an A4 sized pdf file, you will need a pdf reader such as 
Adobe Acrobat to open it. 
If you are printing on US ‘letter sized’ paper be sure to select ‘fit’ or 
‘shrink to fit’ from your printer options.
Print the play dough mats onto plain paper and laminate or slip 
into a plastic pocket.
