EXPLAIN the DIFFERENCE between TEXT and CONTEXT.

Resposta: A text is a sequence of related paragraphs with the same topic while context is the idea or concept
that underlies all the text.

Gabarito:
A context is the part of a text or statement that surrounds a particular word or passage and determines its
meaning. It refers to the circumstances in which an event occurs; a setting. A text, on the other hand, is a
sequence of paragraphs that represents an extended unit of speech (A text can be anything which conveys
meaning through the use of signs. Text refers to anything which is capable of being read or interpreted. Texts
are the products of cultural codes, a coherent complex of signs from one or many sign systems).

Fundamentação do(a) Professor(a): Parcialmente correto.

 2a Questão (Ref.: 201203187418) Pontos: 1,5 / 1,5
EXPLAIN the difference between CRITICAL WRITING and DESCRIPTIVE WRITING.

Resposta: A Critical Writing is much more analytical. The writer should have a wide range of knowledge and
understanding about the subject he is writing about in order to make his judgments, opinions and critics. In a
Descriptive Writing, the writer does not present his opinions or judgements. It is a description of the main points
of the text, a summary.

Gabarito:
Descriptive writing: With descriptive writing you are not developing argument; you are merely setting the
background within which an argument can be developed. You are representing the situation as it stands, without
presenting any analysis or discussion. Descriptive writing is relatively simple. There is also the trap that it can
be easy to use many, many words from your word limit, simply providing description.
Critical writing: With critical writing you are participating in the academic debate. This is more challenging and
risky. You need to weigh up the evidence and arguments of others, and to contribute your own. You will need
to:
1. consider the quality of the evidence and argument you have read;
2. identify key positive and negative aspects you can comment upon;
3. assess their relevance and usefulness to the debate that you are engaging in for your assignment;
4. identify how best they can be woven into the argument that you are developing.

NOW A BLOCKBUSTER MOTION PICTURE DIRECTED BY CLINT EASTWOOD --NOMINATED
FOR SIX ACADEMY AWARDS, INCLUDING BEST PICTURE
From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy Seal Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States
military history. His fellow American warriors, whom he protected with deadly precision from rooftops
and stealth positions during the Iraq War, called him ''The Legend''; meanwhile, the enemy feared him
so much they named him al-Shaitan (''the devil'') and placed a bounty on his head. Kyle, who was
tragically killed in 2013, writes honestly about the pain of war - including the deaths of two close SEAL
teammates - and in moving first-person passages throughout, his wife, Taya, speaks openly about the
strains of war on their family, as well as on Chris. Gripping and unforgettable, Kyle's masterful account
of his extraordinary battlefield experiences ranks as one of the great war memoirs of all time.
