PRECISION. PRODUCTION. PERFORMANCE. About Us Resonant Machines (RMI) has been operating since 1984 as a subcontractor on highways and airports throughout the United States and the world. With proprietary technology, RMI has pioneered the industry in road and airport rehabilitation. Vast experience, strong contractor partnerships and innovative technology has produced many of the highest quality construction projects. Why Rubblization? What does Rubblization do? Rubblization is the process of fracturing portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement into angular pieces for direct overlay. This process turns the old, existing PCC into the new aggregate base. Approximately 65% less expensive and five times faster than total reconstruction, rubblization creates a perpetual pavement with a 22+ year design life according to multiple independent studies (TRB, NAPA, Asphalt Institute, etc.). Requires no major reconstruction with minimal surface rehabilitation. Rubblization has been proven to eliminate reflective cracking, ASR/ACR degeneration, joint deterioration, etc. Studies show to completely eliminate reflective cracking, max particle dimensions must be 1-9”. High Frequency (44hz) Low Amplitude (3/4”) Rubblization Procedure Install Drainage System Rubblization Rolling Direct Overlay Major Advantages 25+ Years of Proven Results Eliminates Reflective Cracking and ASR/ACR Benefits No Damage to Base or Underground Utilities -65% Less Expensive -5 Times Faster -22+ Year Design Life -100% Recycled (Compared to Total Reconstruction) 2.5 Times Stronger than Aggregate Base Debonds Reinforcing Steel Reflective Cracking ASR/ACR Coarse Aggregate Recycling In-Place PCC Recycling is the method of using larger maximum particle size with a proper gradation, as base/subbase layers in road reconstruction projects all in the confines of the existing road. Existing PCC is pulverized in-place, excavated into MCR-300 for screening and crushing to proper gradation, stockpiled on the shoulder, then placed and compacted as new aggregate base material. The MCR-300 coupled with the Resonant Frequency Breaker will eliminate excessive hauling and crushing costs needed to produce proper gradation, while maintaining compaction requirements for the new stable base layer. Construction time, cost savings and eliminated truckloads are some of many benefits with In-Place PCC Recycling Select Crushed Material Sieve Size % Passing 5” (125mm) 90-100 1-1/2” (38mm) 20-50 No. 10 (2mm) 0-10 *Sample Wisconsin DOT Gradation Break for Removal Resonant Machines specializes in speed and smaller particle sizes when projects require PCC pavement removal. Contractors experience 30% less truckloads, lower crushing costs, steel debonding and faster load time with RMI, which creates overall cost savings for the project. RMI’s precision breaking is the most cost effective, efficient solution to expediting your con- struction project.
