The effect of linear position is highly coherent, but the effect of relative position suggests the possibility of different structural claims in grammars about the favored location for plural marking.
The diversity of effects for word classes occurs in a marginally significant restriction and is greater for those word classes (quantifiers and adjectives) that have the highest occurrence area in different structural positions.
The lexical effect is the only significant difference found among the four communities analyzed.
The data analyzed do not allow us to draw any conclusions about the linguistic identity of the speech community.

A partir da análise dos dados sobre a marcação de plural no português brasileiro, pode-se concluir que o efeito da posição linear é altamente coerente, mas o efeito da posição relativa sugere a possibilidade de diferentes reivindicações estruturais nas gramáticas sobre a localização favorecida para a marcação de plural. A diversidade de efeitos para as classes de palavras ocorre em uma restrição marginalmente significativa e é maior para aquelas classes de palavras (quantificadores e adjetivos) que têm a maior área de ocorrência em diferentes posições estruturais. O efeito lexical é a única diferença significativa encontrada entre as quatro comunidades analisadas. Os dados analisados não permitem tirar conclusões sobre a identidade linguística da comunidade de fala.
