O hematoma epidural ou extradural é o acúmulo de sangue entre a dura-máter e o crânio. Geralmente, é causado por sangramento arterial, evoluindo com rápida expansão. Pacientes que apresentam deterioração progressiva do nível de consciência e/ou déficit focal devem ser avaliados quanto à possibilidade de intervenção cirúrgica.
