A seventh chord is a chord formed by adding the seventh interval to three-note chords. Seventh chords can be major or minor, depending on the distance in tones between the first and second notes. To turn a major seventh chord into a minor seventh chord, the first and third notes are lowered by one semitone in descending order on the Piano roll.
