The glands are organs of epithelial origin and, in the specific case of endocrine glands, the product of their secretion is called a hormone, which will act on a specific target organ, where there are receptors for it. The transport of the hormone from the site of production to the target organ is done by the bloodstream. The most commonly addressed endocrine glands in high school are: pituitary, thyroid, parathyroids, adrenals, pancreas (mixed gland), as well as testicles and ovaries. If the pancreas is affected by some pathology, such as cancer that invades cells affecting their function, we can say that:


a) There will be hypoglycemia.
b) There will be hyperglycemia.
c) There will be no effect on blood glucose levels.
d) The pancreas does not produce hormones.
