O objetivo da disciplina "Gerenciamento da Construção" é adquirir uma visão geral das questões envolvidas na gestão de empresas e projetos de construção, possibilitando uma visão holística das disciplinas envolvidas em sua realização. Além disso, a disciplina tem como objetivo introduzir, desenvolver e disseminar conceitos de gestão de projetos e construção para a construção civil e administração, bem como aspectos técnicos, fornecendo aos alunos a capacidade de contemplar as demandas profissionais em relação à capacidade gerencial. Outros objetivos incluem estudar o escopo de projetos de construção civil, sua interdisciplinaridade e integração entre projetos e etapas da obra, conhecer as dimensões de gestão e controle de obras combinadas com etapas de planejamento e capacitar os alunos a agir criticamente em nossa realidade por meio de uma abordagem sistêmica da engenharia, considerando aspectos e princípios de produtividade, qualidade, custos, meio ambiente, segurança ocupacional e legislação atual.
