Some examples of components of innate immunity are: I - Physical barrier, such as the skin and respiratory tract. II - Chemical barrier, such as stomach acid and enzymes found in saliva, tears, and sweat. III - Phagocytosis, which is the ability of some cells of innate immunity, such as neutrophils and macrophages, to engulf and destroy invading microorganisms. IV - Recognition of pathogens through pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) present in various cells of innate immunity, such as macrophages, neutrophils, and dendritic cells.
