Atualizar o preço dos ingredientes
Geralmente, a formulação de ração para gado leiteiro visa à máxima produção de leite, com um mínimo de consumo de alimento e um ganho específico de peso. Entretanto, a melhor condição econômica para o produtor nem sempre será a máxima produção, uma vez que, a partir de um ponto, o aumento dela não será mais compensado pelo maior consumo de ração, ou seja, o extra que o animal come não justifica, financeiramente, o acréscimo da produção de leite.
Assim, a formulação baseada no lucro máximo para gado leiteiro (Church & Varela-Alvares, 1991; Pesti et al., 1993) relaciona a ingestão de ração como custo, e a produção de leite como a fonte de lucro. Segundo esse modelo, para cada unidade de produção (P1-P13) exige uma de leite, o que é acompanhado pela exigência energética. Portanto, quando a soma da produção é forçada a zero, cada unidade de produção será compensada por uma de leite. Ainda deve ser observado, que inclusão de uma unidade de leite exige a suplementação em proteína, cálcio e fósforo.
A formulação do PPFR- Gado de Leite é expressa na base da Matéria Natural, favorecendo um apropriado “preço sombra” dos ingredientes. Outra observação, também importante, é que as diferenças entre a formulação para máximo lucro e máxima produção se tornam mais próximas quando o preço do leite aumenta (Pesti & Miller, 1993). Todavia, quando seu preço é baixo e o custo alto, a diferença torna-se mais expressiva entre os procedimentos de formulação (Formulação de custo mínimo e de lucro máximo).
