OFICINA DE TRADUÇÃO I PROSA (INGLÊS) - CEL0565 
Título da Atividade
Tradução de um Texto Técnico ("Psychology and Learning") para a Língua Portuguesa
Objetivo (Por que fazê-la?)
1. Transformar a teoria em prática real em termos do processo de tradução de textos da língua inglesa para a língua portuguesa;
2. Retomar os conteúdos trabalhados ao longo do curso;
Competências / Habilidades (Quais competências/habilidades o aluno irá desenvolver?)
1. Desenvolver o pensamento crítico e reflexivo com relação ao ofício do tradutor.
Desenvolvimento (O o que deve ser feito?)
Leia o trecho retirado do livro "Theories of Human Learning", de Guy R. Lefrançois (páginas 3-4). Em seguida, traduza o texto para a Língua Portuguesa, lembrando-se sempre do públicoalvo do livro e dos tópicos discutidos nas aulas.
Ao terminar a tradução, escreva um relato descrevendo as estratégias empregadas, os momentos de parada por conta de dificuldades e os meios aos quais recorreu para ajudar na solução dessas dificuldades.
Produto / Resultado (O que se espera atingir ao ser feita a atividade?
Reflexão e aplicação das habilidades de entendimento e tradução de texto. O aluno deverá apresentar o texto traduzido para a Língua Portuguesa, além de um relato pessoal descrevendo o processo tradutório.
TRECHO (= Material a ser traduzido):
“Let me begin at the beginning, said the Old Man. Psychology/ is the science that studies human behavior and thinking. It looks at how experience affects thought and action; it explores the roles of biology and heredity; it examines consciousness and dreams; it traces how people develop from infants into adults; it investigates social influences. Basically, it tries to explain why people think, act, and feel as they do.
The Old Man put his hat back on so that his features and the movements of his mouth were suddenly lost in a dark shadow and his words seemed to come from some other place. The recorder I had been told to bring reeled soundlessly. Of course this book, he explained, doesn't tackle all of psychology but is limited to psychological theories that deal with human learning and behavior and animal learning too because studies of learning in animals are inextricably linked with the development of theories of human learning. So it's important from the outset to know what learning is.”
