Por exemplo: Alice said: "I don't want milk". Além disso, podemos relatar algo que está sendo falado no momento, como uma conversa por telefone ou citar uma conversa prévia para alguma pessoa em um momento futuro. Veja outros exemplos: a) She says, "What time will you be home?". b) She said, "What time will you be home?" and I said, "I don't know!". Com base no exposto, classifique V para as sentenças verdadeiras e F para as falsas: ( ) Podemos usar advérbios para descrever a maneira como alguém disse alguma coisa ("I will not accept it!" he said angrily). ( ) O discurso direto (direct speech) é utilizado quando relatamos, com nossas próprias palavras, o que alguém disse. ( ) Na oração "Morgan said to me that he doesn't want to work." temos um exemplo de direct speech. ( ) Na oração "Susan said, "I don't want to work"." temos um exemplo de direct speech. Assinale a alternativa que apresenta a sequência CORRETA: A F - V - F - F. B V - F - F - V. C V - V - F - V. D V - F - V - F. 2Reported or indirect speech focuses more on the content of what someone said rather than their exact words. In indirect speech, the structure of the reported clause depends on whether the speaker is reporting a statement, a question or a command. It is usually used to talk about the past, so we normally change the tense of the words spoken. Sobre o uso do discurso indireto, analise as sentenças a seguir: I- A oração "Do you speak English?" é um exemplo de indirect speech. II- O indirect speech é utilizado quando relatamos o que alguém disse, usando as mesmas palavras que a pessoa utilizou. III- A oração "There's a fly in my milk! - screamed Saly" é um exemplo de indirect speech. IV- A oração "He said that he had studied there" é um exemplo de indirect speech. Assinale a alternativa CORRETA: A As sentenças II e III estão corretas. B As sentenças III e IV estão corretas. C Somente a sentença IV está correta. D Somente a sentença I está correta. 3We normally use the passive voice in the kind of texts that are called "formal texts". Only transitive verbs may be subject to the passive voice. This is why some structures may present an odd outcome. Consider the sentences given below and analyze the relationship between them: I- "I'm not fitted by my new pair of sandals" Is thus an impossible passive voice structure. BECAUSE II- Intransitive verbs are not able to form passive voice, for the reason that, as they do not have an object, they may not form the subject of the sentence. Check the right answer: A I is a true sentence, and II is a false sentence. B I is a true sentence, and II is a true sentence. II completes I. C I is a false sentence, and II is a true sentence. D I is a true sentence, and II is a true sentence. I completes II. 4A voz passiva, passive voice, é utilizada na construção de uma sentença quando se objetiva evidenciar o que acontece com o sujeito, sem enfatizá-lo. Dessa forma, o sujeito é paciente, uma vez que ele recebe a ação. Essa estrutura é comumente utilizada em textos formais ou técnicos, podendo ser afirmativa, negativa ou interrogativa. Sobre a passive voice no tempo verbal simple present, analise as afirmativas a seguir: I- Para formar o passive voice no simple present, na forma afirmativa, utiliza-se o "am, is or are" + particípio do verbo. II- Para formar o passive voice no simple present, na forma afirmativa, utiliza-se o "am, is or are" + BEING + particípio do verbo. III- "The walls aren't painted by my mother" é um exemplo de passive voice no simple present. IV- "The offer will be accepted by her" é um exemplo de passive voice no simple present. Assinale a alternativa CORRETA: A As afirmativas I, III e IV estão corretas. B As afirmativas I e III estão corretas. Sobre as características dos "genres of movies", assinale a alternativa CORRETA: A Musicals are entertaining movies that are based on full-scale scores or song and dance. B Adventure movies are very true to real life and often depict the waste of war. C Action movies speak of the days of expansion and the trials with Native Indians. D Animation movies depict true stories or real-like situations. Assinale a alternativa CORRETA: A As afirmativas I e IV estão corretas. B Somente a afirmativa I está correta. C As afirmativas I e II estão corretas. D Somente a afirmativa III está correta. 7Os 'Modal Verbs' são um grupo de verbos auxiliares, que não seguem as regras como outros verbos em inglês, assim, possuem características próprias. Podemos citar como exemplos: may, might, can, could, must, should, have to, need to, ought to, entre outros. Além disso, quando usados na forma passiva, possuem algumas especificidades. Diante o exposto, classifique V para as sentenças verdadeiras e F para as falsas: ( ) We write the past - passive form of modals using: MODAL + HAVE BEEN + PAST PARTICIPLE. ( ) We write the passive form of modals using: MODAL + BE + PAST PARTICIPLE. ( ) We write the past - passive form of modals using: MODAL + HAD BEEN + PAST PARTICIPLE. ( ) We write the passive form of modals using: MODAL + WILL BE + PAST PARTICIPLE. B The ficus will be kept. C All your old letters have been kept. D His training regimen had been kept up for a month. 9A passive voice é utilizada para destacar mais a ação ou o seu resultado do que a pessoa que pratica a ação. Assim, é ressaltado o que acontece a alguém ou a algo. Com base no exposto, assinale a alternativa CORRETA que apresenta a voz passiva da seguinte oração: "Has Paul scrubbed the floor?". A Have the floor been scrubbed by Paul? B Has beenthe floor scrubbed by Paul? C Has the floor been scrubbed by Paul? D Has the floor scrubbed by Paul? 10Read the following text: "Mea culpa": Johnny was born in a wealthy family who lived in a remote location, in the surroundings of the village. One day, when he came back home after school at five, he noticed that someone had left the gate of the property open and that a few things were missing, mainly his brand new bike. "Who, for God's sake, has left the gate open again?" He yelled. How astonished he got when a sudden voice riposted from the inside: "Who, for God's sake, left this morning, and took the keys again with?" The boy immediately checked his pockets. There they were the keys of the padlock. About the text, it is possible to state that: I- Objects were missing from a private property after the actions of a forgetful boy called Johnny who now complains about it. BECAUSE II- An answer given to the complaint of the boy shows his stated reputation as a forgetful boy. Check the right answer: A I is a true sentence and II is a true sentence. I completes II. B I is a false sentence and II is a true sentence. C I is a true sentence and II is a true sentence. II completes I. D I is a true sentence and II is a false sentence. GABARITO | Avaliação II - Individual (Cod.:687095) A+Alterar modo de visualização Peso da Avaliação1,50 Prova39930313 Qtd. de Questões10 Acertos/Erros7/3 Nota7,00 1Let us suppose that you have a class of juniors to teach the use of gerunds. Some activities may be more or less appropriate for this kind of grammatical subject. Among the statements bellow, some present good strategies to get the students aware of the use of gerunds in English. Mark T for true and F for False, for each one of them. ( ) Proposing the students to talk about leisure activities may get them familiar to the gerund form after "go". ( ) Introduce a game where they are supposed to do or to stop doing something, according to the gerund or the infinitive you use after "stop". ( ) Propose to them to write or express preferences by using the verb "enjoy", which is always followed by an infinitive. ( ) Make them work in pairs and practice asking questions with " What do you like + verb/I like + verb", which makes them practice either a gerund either an infinitive form after "like". Check the right sequence: A F - F - T - T. B F - T - F - F. C T - T - F - T. D T - T - T - F. 2Gerunds may occupy different grammatical functions when they appear in the sentence. One may use a gerund as the subject of what is stated, as a characteristic of a subject, and it is then an adjective, and so forth. Analyze the sentences below and then check the right answer: I- Traveling around Europe by train or by car may be an exciting experience. BECAUSE II- You may biking around whole Europe as roads are neat and flat. Check the right answer, when it comes to the proper use of gerund: A I is a true sentence and II is a true sentence. I completes II. B I is a false sentence and II is a true sentence. C I is a true sentence and II is a false sentence. D I is a true sentence and II is a true sentence. II completes I. 3Gerúndios são formas verbais da língua inglesa que possuem a particularidade de funcionarem como nomes, daí a sua utilização em frases, como "Reading is a very pleasant activity", na qual em língua portuguesa teríamos que empregar o infinitivo "ler" e não a forma do gerúndio correspondente. Isso implica que os usos do gerúndio em inglês possuem abrangência diversa da língua portuguesa. Sobre o gerúndio em língua inglesa, assinale a alternativa INCORRETA: A They have just decided to be waiting for you at 6 o'clock. B She considers to going out tomorrow evening. C We went camping last week. D I suggest going to the movies instead of the game. 4O verbo "go" é utilizado em diversas construções de sentido em língua inglesa, dependendo da situação em que é utilizado. Por exemplo: quando queremos falar sobre atividades realizadas no tempo livre das pessoas, com o intuito de lazer, utilizamos expressão "go" + verbo no gerúndio (-ing). Essa combinação possui o sentido de indicar uma experiência vivenciada e não apenas uma ação isolada, como na frase: I want to go bowling next weekend! Sobre essa regra, classifique V para as sentenças verdadeiras e F para as falsas: ( ) I went skiing with my family on the last vacation. ( ) I really wanna go camp next weekend. ( ) Did you go to run yesterday morning? ( ) Did you go playing soccer yesterday morning? Assinale a alternativa que apresenta a sequência CORRETA: A F - F - F - V. B F - V - V - V C V - V - F - F. D V - F - F - V. 5O gerúndio em língua inglesa caracteriza-se pelo acréscimo de -ing à forma verbal. Assim: eat acrescido de ing torna-se "eating" na sua forma no gerúndio. Já o infinitivo recebe a partícula "to", o que, para o mesmo verbo, resulta em "to eat" no infinitivo. Com base no uso correto do gerúndio, assinale a alternativa CORRETA: A They asked you to singing at the party, not dancing. B Bringing messages is the only thing I have been doing in this job. C Would you be so kind and baking a pudding for our potluck lunch? D I bring a very important message to you. 6Using the gerund form of a verb is not always that simple. The English language shows some particularities that the Portuguese language does not. That is, for example, the case when it comes to the use of -ing forms after some particular expressions. Mark T for True and F for False for each one of the following sentences according to the correct form of the verb in the expressions: ( ) We had fun going to the movies last night. ( ) When we moved to California, we first sat to wonder about a proper home. ( ) My sister had some trouble driving around London when she lived there. ( ) My car is not ready for a long trip right now: I saw my father to check some strange noise this morning. I love dancing, that's why I agree to dance with you. III- Gerúndios não são bastante utilizados após preposições: I'm interested in become a University Teacher. IV- Infinitivos são utilizados depois de diversos adjetivos: I think it's amazing to walking outside. Assinale a alternativa CORRETA: A As afirmativas I e II estão corretas. B As afirmativas II e III estão corretas. C As afirmativas I e IV estão corretas. D As afirmativas I, II e IV estão corretas. 8O verbo "go" é utilizado em diversas construções de sentido em língua inglesa, dependendo da situação em que é utilizado. Por exemplo: quando queremos falar sobre atividades realizadas no tempo livre das pessoas, com o intuito de lazer, utilizamos expressão "go" + verbo no gerúndio (-ing). Essa combinação possui o sentido de indicar uma experiência vivenciada. Sobre o uso do verbo GO em atividades recreativas, assinale a alternativa em que a frase está INCORRETA: A Did you go running in the park last weekend? B Did you go playing tennis yesterdaymorning? C I really want to go for a walk someday. D I went to skiing with my family in last vacation. 9Some verbs, in English, when followed by another verb, may demand a gerund form. Others, however, may accept either a gerund or an infinitive. Thus, it is advisable to get the most in contact with the English language in order to identify when a gerund is mandatory, and when not. Mark T for True and F for False for each one of the sentences, according to the right usage of the Gerund form: ( ) I avoid to talk/talking about this subject with my parents. ( ) "When he arrived, everybody stopped talking" means: everybody changed some opinion with each other. ( ) "When he arrived, everybody stopped to talk" means: they stopped what they were doing and started to talk. ( ) "I always go camping in summer": infinitive would not be acceptable: go to camp. Sobre as outras maneiras que a frase "Someone (O.I.) gave Mrs. Lee (O.D.) an award" poderia ser escrita na voz passiva sem alterar o seu significado, analise as afirmativas a seguir: I- Mrs. Lee was given an award. II- Someone gave an award to Mrs. Lee. III- An award was given to Mrs. Lee. IV- An award was gived to Mrs. Lee. Assinale a alternativa CORRETA: A Somente a afirmativa II está correta. B Somente a afirmativa IV está correta. C As afirmativas I e IV estão corretas. D As afirmativas I e III estão corretas.
